sinbanshee Posted September 21, 2008 Report Posted September 21, 2008 i bought a 99 banshee for a decent price, previous owner is not mechanicaly inclined at all i find new weird stuff alot as i tear the bike down. long story short same old story of broken case bike, had some ebay chain when i bought wich im suprised after one broken cheap chain he bought another. its a chunk on the topside of the sprocket good sized chunk goes all the way to the clutch its only external peices of the case affected doesnt leak or have any non cosmetic peices missing or cracks. should i replace it after dune season, or since i work at a metal shop find another case with that section good cut it out and weld it on to mine, or make a new peice to go there out of aluminum and weld it in. if i should replace it what would it cost since i hate to take the case off since i would have to tear down the whole motor and the top end is very fresh. Wildcard2 Posted September 21, 2008 Report Posted September 21, 2008 Would probably fabricate a peice to fit there and weld it. If its not internally broken or disturbing anything. Quote
sinbanshee Posted September 21, 2008 Author Report Posted September 21, 2008 thats what ive thought since the area i will have to cut the last bit of that area of the case wich none is structural and then make a peice to fit in there it would go from behind the vin up to the clutch and then on the right side of the chain i thought about an ebay case if i cam find one and instal it after season is over but then i have a different vin on my motor and i dont know how close cops in nevada, california and utah wacth for stolen banshee motors and how critical they are to different vins from frame to motor but i come from a honda car background and its a mess with that kind of thing Quote
