Sneed69 Posted September 12, 2008 Report Posted September 12, 2008 (edited) I have a stock head, pilot jet is a 25, needle in the 3rd position, mains are 300's, FMF Fatty with Core2 silencers, K&N filter and Power Lid and Boysen Carbon Fiber dual stage reeds on stock cages. I'm also adding the Rick Stator timing plate this weekend and advancing it to +4. It bogs pretty badly in the low end, should I change to a 27.5 pilot jet? Or just adjust the air screw? Thanks a bunch, your help is much appreciated... Edited September 12, 2008 by Sneed69 Quote
Hilarious Posted September 12, 2008 Report Posted September 12, 2008 (edited) adjust your air screws first. if the pilots are too small, turn the air screws in a little bit at a time. if you get past one full turn from lightly seated, its time to go the next size up on the pilot. Edited September 12, 2008 by Hilarious Quote
DuneRookie Posted September 12, 2008 Report Posted September 12, 2008 From my experience bogging usually means a rich condition. Definately try air screw first. Just be sure to adjust both carbs the same. Quote
mdhc500 Posted September 12, 2008 Report Posted September 12, 2008 It might be a combo of both. I would try the airscrews first to see if you can find a happy medium, but you might have to bump the pilots... Good luck... Quote
Paddleboy Posted September 12, 2008 Report Posted September 12, 2008 i have the same set up (for the most part) and i'm at stock pilot with 330 mains. i used to have my needle clip in the fourth down and it had a hell of a bog now i put it back to the middle and it was great. also 2 turns out on air screw Quote
ASRBanshee Posted September 12, 2008 Report Posted September 12, 2008 turn your screws all the way in. Then go out 1/2 a turn at a time until the bike idles at the highest point. If the bike idles at the highest point at 1 1/4 turns out or less you need a bigger pilot. Quote
