Hi All  I am a new member here. I have had my drag banshee only few months from buying from e-bay... I have been real happy so far but i'm needing help being new to working on banshee motor. I melted the ball and push rod to the clutch push lever... I had to split the cases to remove the lever ( Due to being melted ) I installed new parts and put back together. After starting her up I put it in first gear and took of slow... went about 5ft and it locked up ( No noise or grinding ) I shut off and went to put in neutral but can't find it at all... I notice when in first gear i can still push down and it feels like it's still down shifting over and over... The trans is an over ride 1-5 . Is there only one way that the shifter rod goes into the shift star?? Or am I gonna have to split the cases again  Please help THANKS Wade

the star only goes on one way. it sound like you may have a bent shift fork. can you shift up still or is it stuck only in first? make sure the shift actuator thing that turns the star is lined up properly.

Yeah it shifts up and down smooth with bike off. I just put on jack stands and found neutral but very very hard to find. I looked over the shift forks before i put the cases together and they looked fine? Does the shift actuator have to be turned to neutral first or does it matter? Thanks Wade

It doesn't matter what gear it's in when it goes back together, as bansh-eman said you may have a bent shift fork...or didn't get one of the forks into the dogs correctly. You'll have to split the cases again...sorry.

By the way, welcome to the HQ!
