05.Banshee.SE Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 I have some type of oily liquid puddling up under my bike, especially after hard riding. I'm not sure if it's coming out of the overflows under the bike, or a leak somewhere. It has a gassy smell to it, so I'm going to guess it's the mixed fuel, and not gear oil. What can I check before I'm able to get a leak down test? Quote
Bansh-eman Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 are your carbs letting gas come out of the overflows? It could be the oil thats left once the gas evaporates. Quote
05.Banshee.SE Posted September 10, 2008 Author Report Posted September 10, 2008 The overflow theory sounds right to me too, but it's getting excessive. I think the plug backing out had something to do with the puddle being so large last time... Quote
Bansh-eman Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 when plugs backout thats normally a sign of detonation. As for the carbs check your float height and make sure your flaots are not sticking just so you can rule that out Quote
05.Banshee.SE Posted September 10, 2008 Author Report Posted September 10, 2008 My carbs do look pretty dirty. Can anyone link me to a good carb rebuild kit? I might as well pull them off and clean/rebuild them while I have down time. Quote
Paddleboy Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 check your pipe o-rings. if they are torn or gone they can leak out oil. Quote
