for what its worth,i have sst's and my nephew has t-5's on our identical prepped shee's.racing up the hills at the dunes neither of us can pull the other.one of us may pull a half a bike at the start then its all the same.i dont know why some one would think that if you mod you bike w/ sst's it wouldnt run correctly but maybe.maybe its too what level,porting shoudnt hurt.

any chance of it being a little bit lean on either pilot/main jet or needle?that will cause it to run hot as well.

i know this isnt going to help much but did you run that same gearing before the rebuild?your sig says you have 16/39 gearing.i believe stock is 14/39.so going up 2 on the front is a really big load on the engine.

actually the Yamalube is a very good synthetic oil.check your manual,yamaha only recommends break-in at 24:1 lots of people use it religiously and no complaints.

take your time when at the track.always take your first laps easy and conquer the jumps one at a time-also no weaving side to side espacially on the jumps ,hold your lines and always be aware for others nobody gets a trophy on the practice days i have a yz 426 and ride at the local tracls and race from time to time -i love it as much as the dunes.

glad your gonna make it,it's gonna hurt for a while but luckily pain is temporary.make sure your wife knows we appreciated the news and updates.

sorry stealthawd,i was simply stating my opinion.it sounds like you know what your talking about seeing how you are in the biz.your a lil harsh with your last paragraph tho.when a band is as big as metallica,aerosmith,zepellin or many others can go into a bar and not be mobbed or harrased/heckled by people like you who call them sellouts for doing whats best for THEM i'm sure it'll happen.dont blame them for their success,also after 20 yrs they should be able to do whatever they want-they deserved it.

i play a bit of guitar,i used to know most kiss songs(my heroes thru high school ).i have a friend who must have some sort of mental telepathy with EVH.he can play anything van halen and damn near perfect.he knows allof EVH's "tricks".he can play the entire solo from the Right Here Right Kow live album and go pretty much note for note.he should be in a tribute band he also made replica guitars of EVH untill Van Halens lawyers informed him that Ed has copywrited the red/white striped guitar thing and he better stop

you guys forget that that there was a time in the mid 90's that was dominated by boy bands and crap,i mean rap.Metallica was the only hard rock band at that time that consistently rocked,who cares if they cut their hair? they also did some really cool stuff with MTV and their fans which i havent seen any other band ever do!i agree that the St.Anger was/is not even in the same leauge as anything previously recorded but give them a break -they are only human. the illegal downloading is just that-its illegal and it takes money from any band.its stealing i'll get off my soapbox now. this thread is kind of the same as the Van Halen/Roth/Hagar which era is better arguement.......to me roth is one of a kind and pure classic attitude.Hagar is just so damn talented.

i dont have any personal experience with them, i have heard that they do a respectable business though.i have also heard good things about kens cycle tech-he bored/ported my bro-in-laws bike and it runs pretty good as well.
