  1. 54 and still going srrong
  2. thats what i thought you ment by slipping, skipping a tooth. now if your top end is in good shape and to save buying new gaskets again, leave the top end on when you split the cases, just wire the crank ends to the top case,(i usually wrap a wire around the spark plugs down to the crank) now after everthing else is disconnected lift off the top case with head cylinders and crank altogether. hope this helps
  3. did you check the shift drum when you replaced the fork? the groove will wear wider in 2nd sometimes, which will allowthe gears to separate enough under a load to skip over the engagement cogs.
  4. Hi all, I`ve been gone for quite awhile, lots of new names. I had tried to get a coalfest get together started for the last couple summers, but it never happened, well looks like a sure bet this year. I havnt rode my shee since last fall( got a Harley, kind of lost interest, for awhile) but I`m sure she`ll fire up for another ride. so count me in and a friend or two(on shee`s). finally gonna meet the Meat!!!! Mark
  5. just turned 46. used to wear a t shirt that said NO FEAR, had to buy a new one thats says SOME FEAR!
  6. just my two cents on this, i`ve read alot of discussions on this from all the pros here, and they say foam is the way to go, but i and all my friends with shees have been using k/n`s for years with no adverse effects. it`s all coal strippins, the dust is so fine its like baby powder, i hate even breathing it, but our top ends last 3 to 4 seasons and we ride alot. we all use outerwears too, after one hard ride the outerwear will be plugged up, just shake it off and good to go again. by the second ride we have to clean the filter.
  7. chech out the armadillo, I`ve had mine over a year, it just refuses to bend. 1/4" angle on each side joined by 3/16 plate, 65.00 at rocky mt.
  8. I`m with Monk, all me and my buds run is Klotz Supertechniplate. been running it for several years, no bodys ever lost a rod, crank, or wrist pin bearing. and ya gotta love that smell!
