  1. I almost came on here to ask the same exact question just the other day. If you're standing behind the quad looking at it, is it the left side of the mount that looks off? I think it might just come like that.
  2. Hey guys just looking for some advice or possible obvious reasons why this might be happening. The shee doesn't like to take off, I really have to give it a ton of gas to get moving. Even dumping the clutch kind of high just leads to a drop in rpms and slow boggy takeoff. Once it hits the band it's as crisp and powerful as can be. One thing I'd like to note is that when the bike is first started for the day, it takes off fine and these symptoms start happening only once the bike gets warm. Fresh top and bottom end rebuild ( less than 5 hours, I never rode the bike before the rebuild) Stock bore/stroke/carbs Toomey T5 pipes No airbox lid with a single K&N filter 330 main 30 pilot 62ft above sea level 93 octane @32:1 semi-synthetic premix Temperature outside was between 50-60F Airscrew is out 2 turns but I've played with it a bit and didn't notice a difference at all If I had to guess, I'd say my pilot is too big? How far would you jump down in size?
  3. Hey everyone, I just had a complete rebuild done to my 2005 Banshee SE. Brand new cases, seals, bearings, crank, top end, pistons, cylinders....everything besides the gears in the transmission have been replaced with OEM parts. I did about 5 or 6 heat cycles without moving the quad and everything seemed to be fine. Then not even 10 minutes into my first ride it looks like the countershaft seal has popped out and is dumping gear oil. I haven't taken anything apart but I can see behind the sprocket that it's almost completely out, and that they used the same gray sealant on it that was used to seal the case. I'm curious if you guys think I should just get a new seal and pop it in, or maybe there's more to the issue and possible pressure in the case or something like that. I don't understand why it would have came out like that so quickly. I wouldn't think any vent lines would be clogged on a brand new rebuild that didn't even make it a quarter mile into the woods. I wanted to ride this weekend but if the motor needs to come out for investigation it will be going back to the shop.
  4. Hey everyone....my crankcase is beyond repair and I would like to buy a complete bottom/top end rebuild kit with a new OEM crankcase. I'm not looking to upgrade anything and would just like all the parts to be OEM or their stock sized counterparts. I was looking at this kit from BPRATV, who this site sponsors BUT they seem to have a lot of bad reviews with people waiting a long time and getting the wrong parts. https://bpratv.com/collections/yamaha/products/yamaha-banshee-cases-complete-rebuild-kit-stock-top-bottom-end-assembly-repair Does anything supply a full kit that I can buy tonight and have shipped out asap? Thanks..
  5. How much would it cost to have someone replace a case after some bad chain slap?
  6. Got it running right but leaving an update just in case it helps someone in the future: I noticed this morning that at idle it was only firing on the right side cylinder. I took apart the carb and cleaned out the semi-clogged pilot jet. I also noticed the carbs slides were wayyyy out of sync and that the left side wasn't even starting to move until almost 1/4 throttle. After syncing the carbs and and cleaning the jet the bike is way snappier and sounds beautiful...no bogging. With that said, I may have synced the carbs incorrectly because although it's running mint, I basically set the idle by adjusting the slide. Playing with the idle screw now doesn't have any effect on the bike. I'm thinking I brought the slides too far up or down?
  7. Hey guys, just picked up my first 2005 banshee SE. If I give it just a little throttle while in neutral it will start to bog down a bit but is fine once it starts picking up RPM's. You really have to give it some gas while releasing the clutch to avoid bogging, but once it starts actually moving it absolutely screams...first and second gear the front tires are in the air when the power-band hits. I cleaned the carbs this morning and the pilot jets were both fully clogged but didn't end up making a difference at all once I put them back in. Bike idles perfectly and doesn't die. MODS: Gimmicky boost bottle Toomey T-5 pipes K&N Air Filter (air box w/ no lid) stock bore/head/ports to my knowledge Elevation: Sea level Jetting: 30 Pilot 330 Main Compression: 112 in both cylinders (checked on a cold motor) Premix: fresh gas mixed 32:1 Plugs: Looked really clean but they may have also just been put in right before I bought it
