  1. Hey! Im new to atv and banshee too....your answer is here for sure....ive read the answer to your questions a bunch of times...each time the recommendations will vary in degree, but everybody always mentions the same items, as there are only so many items right?.....The mission is to figure in what ORDER you should proceed...

Most times, the wiser of fellas here pretty much always mention compression/leak test after the way obvious stuff is done...verifying your foundation is solid...

As far as take offs go...Im 420lb, i leave 2 deep farm ditches behind me when i leave in 1st, and thats leaning over the handle bars lol

  2. If my swinger is a +4, does that mean it is aftermarket? Meaning i can buy any roundhouse carrier i want? They all say 'fits aftermarket only'....Current carrier has a zerk, but stock adjust system

I noticed pivot bushing working its way out, so i figured id do all bushings bearings seals and carrier in one shot, using youtube, here, and clymer as help

  3. proxy-image?piurl=https%3A%2F%2Fm.media-amazon.com%2Fimages%2FI%2F31tdA4QPpiL._SL160_.jpg&sp=1676643349T807b3135ed2d8b624bc1e96f3cb2829317673b56a5ba50d81d50efab926992f9  Lock and Lube tips are the bomb....Makes greasing pleasant...locks on, doesnt make a mess,,,Ive been hittin 20 zerks a day (at work) for a year now  still working great...Got one for the shee at the house now....If you hate greasing and grease guns, this is for you..

  4. Been readin for three days and still dont know..

Whats different about a roundhouse vs a stock?

Whats now round thats wasnt round before?

Whats better except for the chain adjustment part?

My first bike has a swinger that is 22inches from pivot to center of carrier...assuming not stock...has the adjusters...not clue how to measure or shop for carrier

  5. Im new to all this so forgive me if everybody already knows lol...

Bought the $339 dollar one...Went to put on plastics loosely just to get to engine shop, left insert came out super easy with no effort, right insert is spinning, cant loosen or tighten...Cap doesnt go on or off right, halfway thru the journey there a snap, like its crossing a thread funny or something...

Emailed back and forth...There figuring i did it, not going to replace or refund..

The OEM petcock is awesome, works very OEM petcocky..

I dunno, im new...but to me Vitos seems like the Walmart of banshee stuff, not impressed....appreciate the fix threads here on this for sure!

oh, when my engine guy saw the body kit he laughed, said the real stuff is thicker...got that from Vitos too...(paying for my education lol)

  6. Mines leaking, the one to the left of the nuetral cover, my bad builder gooped a bunch of JB weld on the area, and i think oil is seeping from the JB area...I want to chisel off JB,  pull out plug install new one, have aluminum welder guy seal it off..

How should i extract existing plug?

Is it bad to weld here? Is that hole needed open during rebuild ops?...

Ill spend the time and money to seal it once and for all if its a smart idea

  7. Check out herr jugs videos on youtub!!!....very cool to see your builder in action..I really liked the KANmotorsports banshee dissasembly videos!! This guys got an engineers brain and i found the entire dissamebly and all his comments super interesting...Like if you had shop class in school that only taught you banshee from a grumpy teacher lol...

Im gonna learn all this sht so I can banshee more...Also bonzi garage video just posted on his 92 rebuild...THE LEAKDOWN test was the best vid ive seen on that process, the test was bad, and dood plays hell trying to pass leakdown...super informative!

Weird that im here with first offroad toy at 55 years old totally and suddenly addicted to a  30 year old banshee....happy the scene is still live...feel like im part of shelby cobra club, how da fuk am i gonna pay for this stuff ??? Really guys with your 2000 dollar pipes? your fricken hiper rims and your stage 7 shocks!!lol...should have gotton a 4x4 grizzly, i know this...but i didnt..i am here and im gonna vacume up every bit of good content i can..wish i could print the whole site just in case putin takes out a satellite or something lol

  8. I wish I would have went that route...I called FAST and instantly regretted using my local dood...Theres a ton of directions you can go, kinda have an idea of what your wanting because they will have a ton of questions...I felt like i was wasting thier time by not knowing what i wanted yet...but the guy was super cool to me anyways...

I was asked 'what kind of riding do you do?'...i said, 'well i like to be stoned and do brodies'  (bad answer lol),,,i had to come here to find out what that meant haha,,im so new, but learnin super quick man..

  9. Carefull!..Ive used 2 reputable builders in my town now...And I dont recommend this...If you watch the yutube vids on banshee rebuilds from KANpowersports and HerrJuggs, You will want a super experienced banshee builder only...Theres a bunch of little banshee specific things that a reputable 2 stroke builder might not know...My 2 didnt..poor assembly, wrong torqes, no leakdown test, no loctite in loctite spots...ug...

I guess my point is, dont be picky about location...If ya gotta ship it you gotta ship it...Find a proven banshee guy here or wherever...some of these guys got this down to a perfect science...On one of those videos, the guy was so picky about a bunch of things, and explained why, which was cool..

My last bad builder ripped  my gaadam inserts out my brand new tank!!( the ones the plastics tie into), im so mad!!...Dude just didnt have a clue...A banshee guy would not have done that....

This last builder is a famous mx rider from the 70's 80's..Been doin his own work for a hundred years, thought for sure hed do my motor right...nope...another 3k set on fire...Im down 5k  now, and my quad is sittin out there leaking a little bit from everywhere...who knows about the insides

Dont be me! lol...at least watch some vids so you have a good feel on whats supposed to be done...Then youll have good questions for a local guy at least, maybe be able to get a read on his skillset...My moneys gone, so i actually have to learn and do it all myself now...which i am now cool with

  10. The two plugs that are on either side of the front sproket....The left one has a big wad of JB there, and Im 99% sure its seeping oil

How do i get that stuff off from there?

I plan to hammer in a new plug, and possibly find the proper welder to perma seal the deal...I dont think they would need to ever come out for a rebuild if ive done enough reading here about it..

I got 20 minutes on a fresh rebuild, come home 2 days later and find oil just under the neutral cover thingy...Got a seal kit comin if im wrong, but the JB looks seepy!

The shop that did my motor raked me hard, not doin that again..

Any knowledge on this would be awesome...thx
