  1. By no means do I ever cut corners when it comes to my builds. Just wondering if anyone has ever ran those carbs and what were the results
  2. Just wondering what you guys would recommend for carbs. I know some guys run a 2 into 1, some guys like mikuni, some keihin, and then there’s lectron. I understand lectron are by far probably the best. Just wicked expensive. I was looking at a set of keihin’s because that’s what I run on all my other quads (250r’s). Just wondering what you guys would recommend. I plan on doing just a mild build. Nothing extreme. Just pipes, reeds, thought about going with a +4 crank and some port work. I know there’s a lot of knock offs on eBay but I’ve been reading a lot about this knock off kit from BP racing and guys are having really good luck with. Just wondering what you guys think this is is the kit I was reading about: https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F263551552852
  3. Keihin carbs. Was looking at buying a set from a guy I know who got them with a bunch of parts when he bought his banshee. I don’t have any carbs for my banshee build but wanted to pick up a bigger set. Like 33,34,35mm. He said if I buy him lunch he’d give them to me but I don’t want them if I can’t convert them back to gas because I plan I’m doing just a mild build. Not planning on going to alcohol lol
  4. Just wondering if you can take alcohol carbs and convert them back to regular gas and if it’s worth it instead of buying a new carb
  5. I’m only about 2 1/2 hours from Albany. I’m a little north west of you, up near Watertown. Definatly interested any parts you’d be willing to sell. What kind of pipes do you have? Really need a complete top end, carbs, intake, seat, gas tank. I’m sure after I get cleaning and building I’ll find out her parts I need. But for the most part want to get some parts gathered up before I start building Lol
  6. I’m in northern New York. So of course we are all the way across the country but I’d still be whilling to try to work something out
  7. I’m pretty much starting from scratch. I bought a rolling chassis banshee that came with a complete bottom end about a month ago, looking to build it back. (Yes I know just buying a complete quad is probably cheaper, but I’d rather build). Basically just looking to buy a parts lot that contains anything really. All I have is pretty much a dry bones rolling chassis. Looking to buy fenders, cylinders, head, seat, gas tank, carbs. Just miscellaneous stuff really. I have a sand blaster and do my own powder coating so re-finishing any parts isn’t a factor for me. If you have a bunch of random parts lying around let me know. I’m interested in unwanted parts lots and the major things I listed about. Pm me with info, prices, or pictures. Thanks again
  8. The cylinders and 4 mil crank still forsale?
  9. I live in northern New York. No one really cares about anything as long as it’s registered. And in New York you can fill out paperwork saying it’s a custom chassis and they’ll give you a vin number so you can register it. New York will do anything to get tax money and lawn enforcement up here checks for registration, insurance and makes sure your not drinking. As far as going the cheaper roughy, yeah it is probably cheaper to buy a running banshee. I get more enjoyment out of building it. I bought a Tecate 4 a few years ago and built that back to one piece. Same with my 89 250r and my 85 250r. But if I buy one for 2500-3000. It’s going to come with fmf pipes, bald tires, and stock suspension. Replacing the pipes would be 600+ either way, then I’d rebuild it anyways because you never know who had their hands in it. You’d have upwards of 4500 and that’s not including a lot of cosmetic work I’d like to put into it. I can build one from scratch the way I want for close to the same price and i personally get more enjoyment out of building it. I’ll spend some time gathering miscellaneous parts I need. But I hope to score a lot of parts in bulk
  10. A quick brief story.... im new to the site, I purchased a banshee a few years ago. Restored it and sold it and have kicked myself ever since. Recently I found a basket case banshee on Craigslist that was so rough I couldn’t pass it up. Pretty much all that I have is a complete bottom end, and rolling chassis. No fenders, seat, cylinders, carbs.... etc. the guy I bought it from had big plans to put an R1 motor in it and did what you should never do and cut the frame. He cut the part of the frame that contains the VIN number and the same on the other side. Which isn’t an overly big deal because I know it’s something I can fix. I just have a few questions and am doing research before I fully start my build. Just wondering what everyone recommends for performance parts. I put CPI’s on the 2006 I had a few years back and loved them. Was thinking of them, shearer and was looking at the on brand I’ve been seeing a lot called SLP? I’ve been looking at cylinders, can’t find much on eBay just those cylinder kits for a couple hundred bucks but I can’t find anything that shows how reliable those are. Not looking to put a cub motor on it right away. Just want something that has good strong power and is reliable. Hoping to find a nice parts lot I can score that contains a lot of parts I need such as fenders, seat, foot pegs, gas tank. Looking for any advice would be greatly appreciated
