Hotrod9193, thank you for the response... I did a complete nut and bolt restoration, and it feels like every time I do something, something else needs work... I'm at the point of burning it... The motor is out now... I resplit the case double checked the forks and gear position, did shift star mod, the transmission cycled through all the gears with a couple of half shifts, probably due to my hand not feeding the shaft correctly... Then reassembled this evening leaving the transmission in neutral until the motor is back in...

Did you manage to get this sorted... I'm sitting with the same problem
