  1. Well I changed all the fluids and she fired up on the 2nd kick. Took her out for a ride and she rips. Thanks guys
  2. Thanks for the help. It was in a garage so there should be no creatures that made a home out of it
  3. Well that sucks, I hope I don't have to go down that road because I can't leave anything stock and if I have to go in there I see a bore and 4 mil crank in my future. It was in a garage so I'm hoping it's all good in there. Fingers crossed.....
  4. Hello all, I'm picking up my first banshee this weekend and need to know what I should do to get it running. First let me give you some history on it, it was my best friend Brando's banshee(how I got my screen name) and he passed away 12 years ago at the age of 20. Well now his parents sold it to me and it's been sitting for 12 years. But in the 12 years his dad and I have rode it around the block a couple of times. I'm not new to bikes, I got a yz250 and Renegade 800 now and had tons of bikes my whole life, but just not a banshee. Not to sure on everything that done to it, but I know it has a single carb, Toomey t5's, k&n, cool head and not to sure if it's a stock bore and stroke. I know he ripped it down and rebuilt. It's been in the garage and looks like it did when he last parked it, it's just covered in dust. I'll post a pic I have of it when he finished building it. So my questions are what to do to bring this banshee back to life... 1. Drain gas and flush coolant 2. Clean carb and air filter 3. Lube up the cylinder's with what before starting(oil,wd40,etc) 4. New plugs 5. Check all bolts, hoses, wires, etc 6. Maybe Drain brake fluid If this sounds right and if I missed anything please let me know what I need to do to get her running again. I would say that since he did the rebuild when he got it, it has no-more then 10 hours tops on it. And it's been sitting at least a good 5 years without a trip round the block. Were both really picky about how we care for our toys and if I don't care for her right he would put his foot in my a$$. So any help, tips or tricks that you would like to share would be great. Thanks guys.....
