  1. I am looking for a set of white headlights for my 1992 Banshee. It didn't have them on it when I got it, but it looks as if the wiring is different from the lights on newer bikes. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Grason

    I didn't until a few months ago actually. I was running a Noveske flaming pig on it for the past few years, but once I found out it was rated down to a 7" barrel I got 3 baffle QD brake so I could run the can on it. Without the suppressor its one loud bitch.

  5. Just like the title says, I'm looking for a stock air filter cage with a good gasket on it. Mine is all chewed up and doesn't seal against the air box very well. Thanks, Grason
  6. Haha, dammit. That had to frustrating to figure out. With that said, I will be ordering plugs to stick in the silencers while im not using it.

  8. I took the bike to a buddies house today. He knows these things pretty well, come to find out a mouse must have made a nest in the right side pipe which was clogging it up and choking it out. We got it cleaned out pretty well, and its a lot faster when both cylinders are firing properly. I want to thank everyone for their input, this thing has been driving me crazy since I started working on it again. I had blown out that pipe before, but my air gun wasn't as good as his. As soon as he started blowing air through it, chunks of oily grass started shooting out, and then all of the sudden, the big nest blew out. The left side exhaust still seems to blow a little harder at the muffler, but I'm gonna run it for a while and see what happens. Thanks again, Grason

  10. I went ahead and swapped the reed cages, spark plugs with no luck. I am really at a loss with this thing, what do you guys think my chances would be that a rebuild would fix it? Thanks, Grason
  11. The plug is wet, I have swapped both plugs & wires and it yielded the same result.
  12. I don't think its the head gasket, I have checked the coolant level in the radiator numerous times, and its still filled to the top.
  13. Yep, they appear to be in good shape. I looked them over pretty well when I had them out. The only other thing I have read that could be an unlikely, but possible issue is the crank being out of phase which would throw the timing off. How likely is that?
  14. I stopped at Napa on my way home and picked up some of the permatex 518. I used it on both the reed cages and intake boots, after letting it set up for a while I re did the leak down test. Sure enough, it held 6psi for over 6 mins. I am really at a loss now, I was hoping to find an issue with it. For the hell of it I tossed the pipes and carbs back on it, fired it up and still running on the left cylinder only. I would tear the engine down and rebuild it, but I don't know if that will actually fix my problem. Any more ideas from you pros out there? Thanks, Grason
  15. I just bought another set of intake boots & reed cages from a member here and ill order a new cross over tube as well. Ill pull the boots and cages off real quick to seal them up, I wasn't going to glob it on the outside of the boot because that wont accomplish much, I know better than to do that.   16. I didn't crank them down before the test. As the bubbles were building like crazy, I slowly tightened each bolt to see if the leak would slow down / stop. Ill seal them up and do the test over, if it is still leaking, ill get a new intake boot.

  18. Maybe Ill order a new cross over tube, nothing was leaking around there though. The intake gaskets are brand new, and I tightened them as much as I could with out stripping out the holes in the cylinder. Do you run any sort of RTV on those gaskets? I put them in there dry. I sprayed the valve stem & the gauge and neither of them were bubbling.

  20. Yep, stock cabs, and the hose is there. I did the leak down test tonight after making the tools this afternoon. It lost all pressure it about 40 seconds, The only spot I noticed it leaking was out of the top of the left intake manifold. I would imagine there is a leak internal somewhere, I cant imagine it losing that much pressure, that fast, just out of "small" leak from the intake. Any thoughts? Thanks, Grason

  22. Hey Guys, I am new to this forum, I have a 1992 Banshee that is only running on the left cylinder. I have read through a lot of the similar posts, applied the advice that was given, and its still running on the one cylinder. Here is a list of everything I have checked out and tried: Compression - Left cylinder 120 psi, Right Cylinder 140 psi Spark - Both plugs are getting spark, I swapped plugs & wires as well Reeds - Both sets of reeds appear to be in good shape, I replaced the gaskets as well for the heck of it Fuel - I tore both carbs down & cleaned them. I can watch fuel flowing into each cylinder as I rev it up with no air box on. They have been sync'd, and I even went as far as swapping them. Tank - I pulled the petcock out and cleaned the filters to ensure I have good flow of fuel Stator Pickup - I set the gap to .018 and cleaned both nubs on the flywheel Exhaust - The bike has been sitting for a few years, so I pulled the pipe off and shot air through it to make sure it wasn't clogged I saw the post about doing the leak down test, I will be getting the parts tomorrow to build the tester. Aside from that, do you guys have any other ideas?? I have been pulling my hair out over this thing... Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Grason
