  1. Well it's not completely done but I was able to get to where I can ride it this weekend. Pretty happy with how it's turning out. Sounds pretty healthy this go around as well
  2. No doubt. And it sucks. Because I like to lift heavy weights. But with my current caloric intake that ain't happening. So it's cardio and hi rep weight machines for now. Ugh Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  3. Iss coming. Should have everything besides case bolts and internals. The weight loss in bolts is so minimal the cost is hard to justify. I could lose 60# off myself and be way further ahead. But once you buy one Ti bolt, it makes all the others you didn't buy look like shit
  4. Back on the ground. Still a ways to go. Put the old swing arm and a arms on so I could see what it's going to look like. Should look better with new swing arm and front end. Still need to powder coat or anodize axle hubs. Still have a few bolts I want to replace. And I'm still not 100% sure what I want to do for a good. It'll be white, just not sure what style I want to go with

  6. Test fit some plastics and a seat last night. Got the plastics to fit ok. Not great but ok. I don't like how the seat wiggles around with no back plastics and I can't stand the gap between the seat and the tank. Hoping it all blends together when it's all the same color
  7. you ain't lyin. and once you start theres really no stopping
  8. Chassis back from powder coat. Now I can start putting stuff on. Love the white So far I have titanium bolts for everything from the motor forward. Probably a total waste of money for me, but it looks cool as shit Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
  9. Chassis didn't get done so I figured I'd leak the motor down since I didn't when I first built it. Yeah I know "you're stupid!" Yeah, I know. Whatever Also found both intakes leaking. Gooped everything up and let it sit over night and now it's held 6psi for an hour or so. Should be good to go
  10. Got this badass piece in from ATVJoe (Joes ATV Performance and Fabrication) the other day. Sent him my busted trans from last year and told him I wanted something cool and this is what I got back. Ultralight n-1-5 with undercut 1srt gear and back cut 2,3,4. I'm not going to claim to know anything about transmissions, but I know a little about machine work and there's some cool stuff going on here. New carbs and head Carbon fiber lower motor mount struts from carbon race parts Frame is suppose to be finished at powder coat tomorrow so maybe get to start assembling some of this thing this weekend
  11. Starting to rebuild. Was going to just cut mine up and make it nice again but as I started pulling it apart, I went to pull the gas tank out and it wasn't coming. The bar the steering stem attaches to was bent back into the tank during the crash. Had to cut it to get the tank out. Which really isn't a big deal I guess. Could have just bent welded a new bar on. So instead, I found a chassis that'd been cut down and extended a little, paid WAY too much for it, and had it shipped here. Now our shop fab guy is fixing some cracks and stripped bolt holes and putting in a new rear shock mount. The color is so ugly I can't hardly stand it. That's why the pics are black and white lol. I'll be delivering to powder as soon as he's finished with repairs. Won't be changing anything to the bottom end really. It only has 5 passes or so on it. I did however buy some new carburetors and a new head. I originally purchased some 39mm PWK off the facebook page that supposedly had been converted to alky and ran on a 4mm cub before I built this motor. I put them on and thought the bike felt fast as fuck (compared to my old setup), however the plugs didn't agree. It was super lean even with the power jets turned all the way out. I remember feeling it lay over in high gear on the pass that I crashed. Pulled the plugs when I pulled the motor and found I burned a strap off one of the plugs. So figured I'd pull the head to see what the domes and pistons looked like. Few little nicks on the piston but the dome looks untouched. Sent my carbs off to F.A.S.T. to be gone through and proper adjustments made for my setup. After inspecting, and going off their recommendation, we decided to just go with some new carbs. So, new 39pwk alky carbs and a F.A.S.T. branded head on the way. I'll be ditching the CPI inframes in favor of some Shearer oof this time. New front end and swingarm will be supplied by DMS Powersports. Prolly cut up some factory plastics and paint them white if they aren't already white. All 4 of my wheels and tires made it through the crash unbent amazingly enough so I'll prolly just run them. All of the suspension made it through unbent as well. One a arm got the powder coat scuffed up, but that's it. I'll be selling everything off the old bike if anyone is interested in anything. Just a waiting game on everything to show up so I can assemble at this point. Hopefully be ready to ride towards the end of the summer
  12. Well, still not sure what happened, but I crashed it. All I really remember is grabbing the clutch at the end of the pass and then beginning to fall off towards the right side. Then I remember waking up with the wind knocked out of me and eyes full of sand. Only thing I can think of is the tire came off the bead, made a hard move to the left when the wheel dug into the sand, threw me off and then started tumbling. But I really don't know and can't find any video of it. It felt like it ran really good on the 5 passes I got to make on the new build though. The heim end on the right tie rod is broke, but I'm guessing by how those threads are bent, it happened in the tumble The damage doesn't look horrible. The rear subframe is definitely trashed. And the bar the steering stem is attached to has some paint chipping off of it. I still haven't got it out of the trailer to really go over it. My back is pretty messed up from the crash and has my mobility limited. No idea what cut my leg but it did a pretty effective job of it lol. I also apparently hit my head pretty hard as well. Glad I put my helmet on beforehand I had actually made a couple passes on the raptor earlier in the day with no helmet. Never again. Neither my leg nor head bother me near as much as my back though. I probably should have went and got checked out on that deal.
  13. The DRW is kinda ugly and kinda expensive...but now my cases are super ugly because I didn't have one soooo.... lol
  14. Well got the motor in. Fired it up the first time with my old gas carbs just because I knew they would work. Fired off in a couple kicks idled and revved great. Gave it a couple heat cycles then put the new alky carbs on. Gave it a couple kicks and it fired off for the first time on alky. Was idling kind of high so I chopped the throttle to try and get it to come down. It didn't come down. It ran the fuck away lol. Scared the shit out of me. Turned the key off, cut fuel lines, pulled spark plug wires, and it just wouldn't shut off until it sucked the bowls dry. Super scary (to me anyways). Finally shut off and I rolled it back in the garage to look things over. Pistons and bores looked fine so I put the gas carbs back on to fire it up and make sure everything sounded ok again. It did. So I began to inspect and compare the alky carbs to the gas ones and decided that the slides were just opened too far. Adjusted them and put them back on the bike. Fired up and sounds like it should. Took it to my local river bed to see what this cub on alky was all about...Apparently it's too much for my eBay chain lol. I seen the bad spot in the chain when I put it back on the back. But, I'm stupid and really wanted to ride so I said screw it and slapped it on. Shit happens. New chain, guide, and a DRW case saver and it's good to go again I did get to stick it once from a roll before it broke and there is definitely considerably more power now. This thing has me wanting to sell the raptor and put more money into the banshee. It's a serious dilemma I'm dealing with currently lol
  15. What a fun machine. I can't explain how much I enjoyed this bike last year. I beat on it mercilessly for the last half off the year and didn't miss a beat until I finally broke the transmission at the the Fall King of the River race. No complaints though. It definitely didn't owe me anything. I decided since I was going to have to split the cases to figure out exactly what was wrong, that I would just go ahead and build a new motor while I was in there. That way I know exactly everything that's in there. I gave Jeff at F.AS.T. a call and he was more than helpful with getting me setup with a new 4mil crank and some cub cylinders. I knew the old motor was a 4mil setup but I didn't know if it had a long rod or what so I just decided to start fresh so I did know. I also got a new ATVJoe trans and some 39mm PWK alky carbs. The end of my 2016 was super busy so I didn't get a chance to even touch this thing until just a couple weeks ago. Finally got it tore down and discovered I could have reused my old crank (oh well). Also confirmed my suspicions of a broke trans. (I had already cleaned one piston) I prolly shoulda sent this thing off to someone to be built because I'm not the most mechanically inclined person but I like learning new things soooo I put it together myself. Really wasn't that hard. Everything just kinda drops in And that's where I'm at with it for now. I had fun putting it together and I can now add another engine to my list of assemblies. Hoping to drop it in the chassis this weekend before I head out to Cali for a couple weeks

  17. Finally got to spend some quality time riding this thing. I took it to the HQ ride but snapped the chain the first pass as soon as I let go of the clutch. I considered selling it after this trip because what little time I did get to ride it, it killed my hips. Not sure what was up with that, but it hasn't bothered me since then. Anyways, fixed the chain with another master link and took it to my local test spot (Cimarron River) to see if I could get comfortable on this thing. Aaaaand I love it. Nice and comfortable, fast and reliable in comparison to how my raptor has been treating me lately. Only thing I wasn't sure of is why I couldn't launch in second. It was only 15/40 gearing but I felt the motor makes enough power I should still be able to leave in second, but no. So I ordered a 43 tooth rear to see if it'd help. Got the 43 tooth on and took it back to the river to test it out. Still no second gear leave. Just bogs and won't go. Oh well, leaves ok in first just have to shift it quick. Last weekend a few people got together at Whitefield River (where we have King of the River) so I figured I'd make the 3 hour drive to have some fun and see how it stacks up. Very happy with it! Could beat my buddies 60hp yfzr by about a bike. That may not sound great, but I'm 250# and he's maybe 200# so I was pretty stoked. Also was able to outrun a 4mil cub by a pretty good ways. Obviously I know it's not that fast by any stretch of the imagination but it's turning out to be exactly what I wanted. My buddy with the yfz doing some racing on it. He bogged it trying to launch in second but did go around the 450r just for the record lol So on my 3 hour drive home I decided to see what I could learn about my not being able to launch in second problem. Turns out, and don't laugh, that there is quite a bit of tuning that can be done on the lockout clutches. The guy that built and tuned the motor was probably 100# lighter than me and has quite a bit of weight on the lockout arms. So, I'm going to mess with that and see if I can make this thing run even better. And if that doesn't work, I'll try a 14tooth front sprocket
  18. I am so excite. Came home from a week of working/partying in Texas to my Stellar swingarm waiting on my front porch. Awesome piece as always Got some time this even to put it together and make it able to roll around. This thing has a real altitude problem lol. Needs more low
  19. Finally touched this thing again this last week. Went to replace the stator with one for an older like mine is and found this... I don't know how it happened, or who did it, but damn. This is what I get for buying used stuff I guess. I re-tapped it and put a new stud in it and I don't see why it won't work again, but I couldn't believe this when I found it I put that back together and then fired it up for the first time. It sounds good. Wish I could ride it. Put the plastics back on and to kind of stay with the 1993 theme (minus the purple seat and tank cover) I decided to coat the wheels white. I think it's going to look pretty cool once it's all put together. Swing arm should finally be here soon. Unfortunately I'll be at the race track the rest of the week and won't be able to work on it. But, should be able to have it buttoned back up just in time for the HQ ride next weekend at Little Sahara
  20. Finally warm enough this weekend to get back out in the garage. Finished powder coating the front end parts, assembled and somewhat aligned. Turned it around so I could start taking apart to the rear of the bike so it's ready when the new swing arm comes in. Powder coated all the parts back there Also got the new clear lense and stiff ring put on. I'm ready to take this thing for a rip. I have 3 bikes now, and none of them run. I'm having withdraws lol. Going to get a new stator. The one on this motor I'm guessing is for a newer bike. It has a different wiring plug and it's missing one of the bullet connectors. Also have to trim a couple little nubs on the inside of the frame so these big ass filters will fit on the carbs. Hopefully that's about it as far as getting this thing running again. Then I can focus on making the others run lol
  21. Toughed out the cold weather this weekend and got the new bullet put back together and shoved in the chassis. Clutch cover powder coated glossy white to go with the bottom of the head and the carbs. Going to get either a clear or smoked lense to replace the blue one. CPI pipes were kind of a pain to fit. Had to space out just a little bit on each side. But they look sooooo good. Also, going to have to space my foot peg out to clear the clutch cover and probably bend the brake pedal out some. Got one side of my cheap ebay arms powder coated glossy white but ran out of powder before I could do the other side. These things actually fit really well and the welds didn't look terrible. I've seen worse for sure. Now just waiting on some more white powder, my new swingarm, and wheels and this will be ready to start tearing up some sand!
  22. They were $200 brand new with ball joints and tie rods...I don't expect them to be great. But, if the same tabs are holding up on my $600 a arms, I don't see why they wouldn't on these. What would you rather see the tabs made out of?
  23. Honestly the shock tabs look to be the same thickness as my stellar arms on my raptor. These cheap arms on my banshee look like knock off alba's to me
  24. Been waiting on things to start showing up so I got bored and unbolted everything from the motor and started powder coating it. Just lack the clutch cover and the bottom part of the cool head. Those will be gloss white. Did the top part of the head, intakes, water neck, water pump cover and outer part of the clutch cover gloss black. The a arms showed up today. They're the cheap $200 ones on eBay and they actually fit ok surprisingly enough. I'm going to redo them in white. Just waiting on the swingarm stuff to get here now so I can have it sitting on all 4's when I go to put the new motor in.
