  1. I ended up with a 96' shee that I picked up at an auction that has definitely had work done to it but I'm not sure exactly what. It had PT mids on it when I bought it and I got those sold to someone who can use them since I only ride dunes and am in the process of getting some sb inframe CPIs. I've had 2 strokes before but I've been on a raptor 700 for a long time, so it's my first time owning a banshee and I love it. Anyways, if the cylinders were ported for the PT mids are my CPIs going to make it run like shit or would a port for either or these pipes be similar? The bike's setup is definitely for dunes so I would assume their build would have been built, ported, etc. with a dune style type of riding in mind. For all I know they may not even been ported cylinders but I was hoping since there's lots of people on here with lots of knowledge about banshees that I could get some help on what to look for and how to identify what I've got here. Any help is much appreciated, thanks.

  3. +1 I sent a pm as well and have not received a response.
  4. I'm looking for a good set of CPI sb inframes for my shee. Currently I'm running Paul Turner Mids and I like them but I ride only dunes so the CPIs seem like a lot better choice for my riding style. I'd be up for a trade + cash or just straight out buying them.
  5. Update: Still have paddles on so I just took it around in the dirt lot in my yard for a quick run through a couple gears, everything seems great so I'll take it to the dunes this weekend and really test it out. Thanks for all the suggestions and help.
  6. Great shape Paul Tuner mids, I'd be willing to sell them if I had to but I'm looking to trade for some SB CPIs or Shearers. Bigger picture available to view in my uploads to the gallery.

  8. You wanna get rid of the arms too?
  9. Well after staying up last night until 2:30 AM I finally got the clutch cover side all done and sealed up. I had a couple other mods that I was doing so I got everything to a stopping point to where now I just need to put my case saver on and my stator cover and then add fluids and take it out to test.
  10. Thanks for the information, that's exactly what I just got done doing so I should be in good shape. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  11. Good news! After putting her up on a stand and turning the wheels I was able to get it through all the gears up and down. Still kinda wants to bind on me but I think it's just because of how slowly it's spinning. Reassembling right now. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  12. I'll go check it out! Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  13. That is good news! I'm hoping I don't have to split the cases to fix this problem. I'll update tomorrow when I get a chance to look at it again. You answered my previous question too. 6 gears in the tranny. Not 5. I really appreciate the quick responses! I have a raptor 700 and the forum I follow to do work on it is not nearly as lively or helpful as this one. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  14. Thanks for the advice, tomorrow I'll get the rear end up and get it spinning as I try to go through the gears and see if that will allow me to go through all 5 gears smoothly. There's on 5 gears right? Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  15. Yeah I have the clutch basket off, I haven't been spinning the clutch shaft as I shift but I'll try that tomorrow after work when I get a chance to look at it. Even without spinning the clutch shaft I could get it to shift smoothly through 1-4. It just will only go half way between 4-5. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  16. I took the shift shaft off and tried to just run it through the gears by rotating the shift drum and it goes through all the gears just fine until I go to switch from 4th to 5th. It gets stuck on the transition up to 5th and stops on the point of the shift star between the two gears. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  17. Update: I got it back into first after rolling it back and forth and working it through the gears. Is this normal? As I try to get it through all the gears it will get stuck on the way up through the gears. I'll attach a picture to show what I mean. It's like it's stuck between gears on the tip of the shift star. 18. I had my banshee lock up in what I believe to be 3rd hear while I was riding it. When I tore it down I found the shift shaft was worn out pretty bad so I replaced the shaft, did the FAST upgrade, and now when I have adjusted the eccentric screw correctly I still cannot get the bike to roll through the gears properly. Should I be able to click through all the gears just rolling the quad back and forth? What could be causing this? I'm lost now, I thought I had the problem solved but it seems that now although I got it to shift down to first and everything it now is still having a hard time getting through the gears. Any insight is much appreciated! Thanks. Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
  19. Thanks for the insight, so it looks like it's one or the other. Either, Stock shift shaft with mull shift star OR stock (modded grind) shift star with FAST shift shaft.
  20. Thanks, Anything else I should replace while I've got the RH case cover off? Is the modded shift star a must as well? I've never had any problems with gears being hard to find or missing them. But I don't have as much experience on a banshee as most people on here. Worth the 40 bucks? Mod it myself? Or not worry about it?
  21. So I finally got a chance to tear down the clutch side and found that the shift shaft has quite a bit of side to side movement as in movement from the left side of the quad to the right and moves enough that the claw can miss the shift star. The spring on the claw as well seems to be worn out because neither end is touching a point that would give it tension. Everything else seems to look fine as far as I can tell. Do I need a new spring? whole new shift shaft assembly? I've read about getting the proper adjustment on the shift shaft with the screw but as far as I understand that wouldn't affect the play that I have that is allowing the shift shaft claw to miss the shift star.
  22. Hey guys, I'm new to banshees but not new to riding/working on quads. I recently picked up a banshee from a bankruptcy auction for $1200 bucks knowing very little about it. Long story short, it runs like a champ after cleaning the carbs out until a couple days ago the transmission locks me out from shifting down. From how it feels I wanna say that it's in 3rd and able to shift to 4th and between the two but cannot shift down past 3rd. I've read online that it could be that the shift star has slipped or something along those lines. What does this sound like to you? Where should I start to fix my problem? Any help to get me headed in the right direction is much appreciated. Thanks.
