  1. Sent the contact info for the legacy steel series kit straight from elka. Hopefully they will contact me tomorrow and i can have them coming my way!!!
  2. Im going to order the elka stage 3 set like zillafreak recommended, tonight. Im also going to order another chain and get 13 and 14 front sprockets and a few different rear sprockets. And take the 4" extension out of my swingarm to see if its any better. If i like how it is, i will try to find a round style swingarm. Any suggestions on steering stems and bars?
  3. I dont think i need the plus +4. It has dune port, t5 pipes, +4 timing, vforce 4 reeds and thats about it. It just spins everywhere i go. Wheres a good place to order the shocks?
  4. I think im going to get a new set of elka dual rate shocks. They seem to be a favorite around this forum. Its only a trail bike so i shouldnt need anything too fancy. Who can i send my rear shock to to be rebuilt? I would like to have a it done and back to me as soon as possible. Also, would i be able to run such big tires with a -1 or so swingarm?
  5. Ok, whats a good shock to go with. Im ok with having them rebuilt every few months, but really want to avoid really high maintenance shocks.
  6. My current suspension setup just doesnt seem to be working out to well. So please help me out here. Im new to atvs let alone suspension. Right now i have +2+1 a arms up front with yfz 450 shocks. The rear is stock swingarm with a 4" extension, stock shock, and rims flipped around to make it wider. I Run holeshot xct tires, 22" rear, 23" fronts. I need the added clearance because here in PA, where im at, 75% of the trails are rocky and washed out. Any suggestions on what to do to make the quad not so nose heavy and handle a little better?
  7. I have a +4 on mine. Its a stock stroke dune port motor. Its actually kinda hard to get it to ride a wheelie. Itll pop the front end up very easily, but it wont stay up. I also run 22" tires on rear and 15/41 gearing. How short can i go with 22" rears? The trails i ride would destroy a low quad. PA trails SUCK!! or atleast where im at....

  13. I really thought about it haha. But i figured if i put around 1500 in it now, i can finish out this season and by the first of the year my truck will be paid off. So ill be saving 400$ a month that will go towards a serval motor.
  14. Ok. So now what type of pistons do i need? I think im just going to get in contact with a builder to see what i need. I would like to build this motor myself since it should be a minor build.
  15. Thanks bansheehp. Ive never really messed with stroker motors before to know all of the necessitys. So when you say pistons, head, and domes, im guessing this is for the added 4mm of stroke? I thought that the vitos spacer plate was designed to raise the port timing, the dome clearance etc. to be able to run the crank without further modifications? Please correct me if im wrong, the only knowledge im going by is from reading online (havent contacted a builder yet to fully understand the process)
  16. Im building a trail bike and am looking to go with a 4 mil stroker crank. The current motor setup is as follows: Hjr dune/play port 65mm bore Stock head milled down Vforce 4 reeds Timing plate set to +4 T5 pipes The motor has about 10hrs on it. With new seals and bearings in bottom end. Top end is the same. Had fresh bore and hone when i got the bike. My qestion is, what parts will i need to swap to a 4 mil? Im probably going to run the spacer plate because i will hopefully be going to a serval motor some day. Any help would be awesome.

  23. I agree. The engine alone is worth $500. It doesnt look too bad. But i really wonder what happened to cause that kind of damage? Looks like a new axle, a arms, wheels, tires and youll be good to go
