Hello, my friend and I are in the process of building a YZ490 TRI-Z trike and need some help. He purchased the trike with a trashed motor, and bought an incomplete 1987 YZ490 dirtbike from a wrecker for the budget build. We have the motor bolted into frame, but have run into some issues with making it all work together. The first problem we ran into was exhaust, our bike came with no exhaust and we will need to cut up a pipe, or try to build mounts to make it work with our frame. We are asking if anyone has a stock (or maybe aftermarket) pipe they would be willing to get rid of to help with the build, as we cant find any for sale. Also, we need stator, flywheel and flywheel cover as they were pulled off at the wrecker. One other fitment issue were wondering about is the Carb and filter. Lastly, we need advice on the build and are wondering if anyone else out there has done the same thing or similare! Thanks alot!

 

PS. I know this is not banshee specific but definitely a worthwhile Yamaha build.

Why woulf I get pods these filters flow awesome and I drive tons of dirt roads. And you don't reccomend the toomey needles?

Hey i would really appreciate if someone could give me advice on how to jet my banshee/type of needle to use for my circumstances. All info is below.

My main goal is longevity, should have plenty of power through this setup. not sure how to mix fuel, thinking  32:1. Open to opinions!
