  1. Are my pistons ok though guys? Just wanna make sure thats not the problem thats causing the weak spark on left side. Plus my CDI is not stock, its aftermarket and it is set to "curve 3" position, dont know what that means. Any idea?
  2. Both float heights are the same level and adjusted correctly using the manual.
  3. Checked reeds also, they are perfect from looking into it from the carbs side. Didnt take it out to check, dont know how to?
  4. This is looking inside the left spark plug hole to the top of the cyclinder And this one is looking through the right spark plug hole to top of cyclinder Anything to be concerned about here?
  5. Right this problem has been killing me ever since it started to happen. When i started it, the left side had good spark, was idling perfectly, then few mins later the left spark becomes very weak and no smoke coming out of it. I turned it off. Started it back on. Both spark went back to normal again and idling perfectly. Few mins later same thing happens. Left side becomes weak no smoke. Checked spark plugs, they are fine. Very very light brown. Check my reeds and reed petals, both perfect. Opened up carbs, both are good. Swapped spark plug wires over, still having the same problem. I would really like to sort this out before I get a trailer for my birthday and take it for some fun riding on the dunes. I have no idea about this but i think the spark on the left side becomes weak after a while even though the spark is sparking well at start up and idling but then later becomes very weak. Need this sorted out ASAP!
  6. Nope they seem normal to me, not much oil on it. I sprayed K&N oil lightly on it.
  7. The last set of spark plugs i had was weak because it was wet and black. Today I rode again and it didnt foul but SOMETIMES its shutting off as i was come to a stop. I also synced the IDLE too. But something needs to be changed to stop it from shutting down when I come to a stop.
  8. Im running Keihin PWK 28mm carbs and im using yamalube (blue top) at 32:1 tomey T5 exhaust, F.A.S.T black cool heads 21cc domes K&N Filters, recently cleaned and oiled.
  9. Right so when i started up the quad it was cold, as it got hot it spat a lot of little drops of oil to the floor only for like 2 seconds or so. But thats because of the motor going from cold to hot. I've taken my exhaust off, and the pictures are below. Another thing you guys should know is im running 145 mains, 45 pilots, 2.5 turns out and 4th position from sharp end on needle. At 3 turns out the Idle goes up high and loud (not very high) and then settles. Does it every 30 secs. Then I turned the screws in to 2.5 turns from 3 turns and the Idle was normal. Im at 56ft so basically sea level. Keeps fouling left side but yesterday ran better but still fouling on left side meaning the left exhaust became weaker than the right then later couldnt start it for it to idle normally.
  10. UAE is a 10 hr drive from my home, BUT i have quad bike shops in my local area that have and fixed many banshees and even have stock parts for the shees too. But FIRST new plugs then chop to see if im rich or lean on the jets. If it still fouls after getting the right jets and mixture, then i will take it to the shops, dont have a trailer just yet as i bought the quad about 2 months ago now. WIll get a trailer soon.
  11. I managed to get the float bowls off and the readings were - Main jet 148 and Pilot jets - 45 Right now I have put in 145 main and 45 pilot to see if it makes any difference.
  12. I got new spark plugs now, but how do you do a plug chop?
  13. This is the colour i got after cleaning the spark plugs, took this picture when the left side fouled again!! (not the kick starter side) As you can see the spark plug on the left is a brownish colour on the electrode and kinda wet too and the one on the right is wet black and dirty. What does this mean for the spark lug on the right? (which is for the left cyclinder) Oh and I cleaned the spark plugs before this so thats why the surface of the right one is clean, you can see its getting black again from the tip.
  14. How do I check my electrical? What i did was i swapped over the plug wires onto the opposite spark plugs and it still does the same thing, the right side is fine and the left side is weak. The colour on the right spark plug is brown and little bit of oil too and the one on the left is kinda like black and not much oil on it. Also someone mentioned to OHM it, what does OHM mean?
  15. I cant pull the bowls off the carbs as the screws on them are really tight and they kinda weared out as i was trying to get the screws loose. But I had the receipt where it tells me what Main and Pilot the carb is jetted with. Main #155 and Pilot #48
  16. Ah ok i understand now. Yes i have the sync tool and havent used that yet. Will use that to even out the carbs. So whats the main you are talking about? The main jetting screw? What does that look like and how is it tuned?
  17. Another thing I need to figure out is why is one exhaust giving out more smoke than the other? Should there be alot or smoke or just a little? What do i need to tune to make them both the same?
  18. Can someone tell me what that screw is called on the side of the carb? The one with the spring, and what does it do? how does it work?
  19. I tuned it yes and its seems to be running better and also how do you clean the carbs? I have Keihin carbs and K&N filters. No idea how to set float level. Main jet washer? never heard of that, not even in my manual, what is that?
  20. I also just got NGK Iridium IX spark plugs from local quad shop, they are BR9EiX spark plugs, are they ok to use in our shees?
  21. Sorry Ohm it? What do you mean? So i just cleaned the spark plugs, put them back in, it backfired once and turned off, i then switched over the spark wires to opposite sides and turned it on, both sides seemed to work, then put back the spark wires in their normal positions and tuned the right carb and it seems to be idling properly now. I guess it was the mixture setting wasnt set correctly for the right carb.
  22. Yeah im going by the manual the amount of turns I have to apply for the mixture screws.
