  2. And I was trying to get a rough price estimate but the guy at yamaha says there pricing it all up so I should know in the morning what the price they are charging is..and windy I know ur right but where do I start
  3. Just got on the phone to yamaha they said there still pricing it up and there letting me know in the morning but it's pretty bad he said there was no oil in the motor an it was running real lean ..the guy i bought it off said he just put so 2 stroke gas in it I told him the problem I have is if it happens again I'm fucked an he told me the guy working on it owns a banshee blah blah..at this point I could whip mybike out tomoro give them there 300 an be gone ..I will take the loss of 300 an move on..but what should I ask these guys to see if they know how to tune it etc..cheers for the help so far
  4. I'm ringing yamaha up at 2 o clock to see how much they price it out to be ,but I might just be picking up my banshee after reading that..I'm willing to learn an I am getin a manual but I know nothing about how the engines works an stuff so I would be learning from scratch ..that's what's stopping me from picking it up is I know nothing about how to work on a bike let alone a banshee
  5. Iv been looking online but there's no 2 stroke only shops there all car rebuilders ..but they say on there website they do go carts etc
  6. That's a good idea big but I don't have that much patience I already have yamaha pulling it apart an checking it I'm thinking wether to go through with yamaha dealer or find a engine rebuild shop ? Would they be better to tune it etc then yamaha .
  7. Yes i live in nz..I dont know where else to take my banshee ..iv only had it for 2 weeks bought it for 4grand rode it for 20 mins an now I'm here..Im waiting for the mechanic to ring me about lunch time an he's ganna tell me what parts I need an I was thinking about buying the best aftermarket parts for it an getting them to install it all..john what do u suggest I do from here..I know I'm ganna end up losing some $$ on this
  8. Get what back
  9. I just took my banshee to yamaha dealer my kick starter was stuck they said it was seized an that it was a big job 2 or 3 thousand but they had to check to see so I payed them 300 to check it to see what I needed ..tomorrow they are ringing me an telling me what parts I need ..he said something about a piston seizing in the cylinder..I am going to buy after market parts an get yamaha to install them what are the best aftermarket parts I should get for my shee an does 2 or 3 grand to fix it sound about right
  10. Cheers tricked carbine I was hoping to hear that an ur right I'm ganna get a manual an buy a set of wrenches an tools an try work on this beast ..what type of manual should I get ?
  11. I'm going to try get a manual I think I might try check the clutch cover thing..I hear banshees are easy to work on but really u think someone with no clue about engines could work on one? An yeah I was thinking about finding a local shop just hard to find a decent one..I have a z400 that needs fixing too an I know that's at least 6 hours labor splitting the case I hear? If it's anything like that on my banshee I will be in deep $$hit ..
  12. Lucky I'm a millionaire then..
  13. Yeh I figured ..how much u think worst case scenario ganna cost me?
  14. I live in newzealand.. Btw I have never done motor work of any kind so I wouldn't feel comfortable taking it apart so that why I thought the dealership and even if I could take the clutch cover off I wouldn't know if it how it should be or not .. I had premixed 20l of 2 stroke fuel but I didn't end up using any of it as it still had 2 stroke gas from the guy I bought off..so it was running on the right gas 40 .1.... If I had to tear it down how many hours in labour am I looking at paying an parts etc..I know nothing bout engines so I pretty much have to take it to the dealer but I'm guessing it's gonna cost me a arm an a leg that way but I don't know nothing bout motors so its the only way I can think of
  15. Ok I just bought a 2000 yamaha banshee my first banshee ..everything looked mint guy said he had it for a year an that the owner before him had it since new an he rebuilt it a year ago..he didn't know what he had done though so as far as I know it's stock..with pro circuit pipes.. Ok now I couldn't wait to ride this thing so I strapped it down on my truck an went to the beach.. NOW I know u shouldn't ride alone because I was riding around for about 5 mins all was good an then I decided to go rip down the beach shore ( wish I didn't ) I was riding for abit then I thought hey I better turn around ..turned around then the bike went for a bit then stalled clunked out on me I tried to start it up an the kick starter was jammed wouldn't kick down ...I couldn't believe it I had to push my brand new to me banshee for at least a k because my truck would sink if I tried to get it over to where I was riding..an to top it off the tide was coming in an the sun was going down..luckily I had a phone got help from my bro..now I got my banshee back it's got a stuck kick starter..now would anyone be able to help me figure out whats broken? Would this be top end? Bottom end or both? And I'm probably gonna take it to yamaha, how much would a top end or bottom end or both cost, an how long would it take to do as in labor..i know it's 2 stroke so I hear that makes it easier to work on idk? I can't sleep I bought this thing for 4k cash first ride an I'm pushing it back ..and it had coolant enough gas but I don't know about the tranny oil.. I know I should of at least checked it I had new oil for it but was too lazy to do it an couldn't wait so hopefully that has nothing to do with it.. Would anyone know what would cause this or any help would be appreciated
