  1. alright sweet! I was reading through the post your jetting thread and it seemed like my main could be off and on the lean side, some guys with similar builds had 300's and 310's but we didnt have the same elavation
  2. Hello everyone, I'll try to make this as short and sweet as possible. I recently bought a banshee a few months ago, It seemed to be running good but after my first long ride my top end went boom, my guess is that it was always running lean. Now I am waiting on my cylinders to get back to me but I want to make sure my jets will be on the safe side before I even go to break the engine in. So here are all my specs+ mods, I did already rejet so I just want to make sure I should be in the ballpark and safe to fire/ run the new top end. Exhaust: fmf gold series, powercore2 scilencers. Intake: stock airbox, no lid, prodesign k&n pro flow kit with outerwears pre filter. reeds: boysen carbon fibers with stupid boost bottle. Elavation: 700 to 800ft riding temps: 70- 85F oil/mix: 93 pump with amsoil interceptor 40/1 porting: no Stock carbs w tors delete. Pilot: 30 needle: middle clip mains: 280 air screw: 1.5 turns out this all sound about right? thanks a lot for your time everyone! I hope to get this damn thing back together and ride it before summer is gone.
  3. I'm located in lacrosse, WI, I don't really know of anyone around here where I would trust my machine to be worked on, no banshee pros around here
  4. My guess is that it needs a new top end. I'll do a test tomorrow, it sucks because this had a top and bottom end rebuild in 2011 but wasn't jetted properly, The guy ran it 4 times after the rebuild once I bought it, that 60 mile ride probably put it to death with the wrong jets. I have a in line temp gauge and she never got hot on me but idk what else could be causing this bullshit
  5. i will do the compression test, My idle screws are already maxed out against the jam nut so I'm out of adjustment on those
  6. I have yet to do a compression test, I have a Tors delete carbs and parking brake, choke tube is on both carbs, I might have put the slides in wrong, the slide cuts are facing towards the air filter though on both, I never put my airbox on just so I could tune the carbs without stuff in the way. one carb keeps leaking on me also. I ordered a carb rebuilt kit and I'm debating on just doing that..
  7. finally got time to put my new jets in and give them a try, I went with 30 pilots 260 mains and middle clip needle with 1.5 turns out on air screws. It wont start without a pull start. revs ok mid range, wont idle, I'm so lost right now, literally about to fuckin sell it for parts...
  8. alright guys thanks for all the info.. I already had the case off once to get a little more adjustment for a last ride. the clutch does look pretty damn simple haha.
  9. rubber O ring thing? is that behind clutch plates?
  10. I'm about to order up a FAST clutch just wondering if there is a certain position i have to put the metal plates in, and if I have to line the basket and outer pressure plate in a certain order. I know on some quads you have to line arrows together and stuff.. thanks for your time! Also wondering if I can make a tool hold my clutch to take it off and torque it back down.. any suggestions will be appreciated! Thank you for your time!
  11. alright man thanks I'll try it out
  12. okay my pilots are #25 guessing they are small, should be 28-30? also wonder what how many turns the air ratio screws should be turned out to start with? Still not sure if my 260 main is right either.. !
  13. damn haha yeah it was the air screw they were only .5 turns out, I'll check the pilots in a bit.
  14. bad news.. pulled both pilots out and they dont have a single mark on them. they were turned only .5 out of the carb, let me know what size pilots you think I should get and I will order those along with my needles an also let me know what I should start for turning out. I'm guessing 1.5
  15. okay good I wanted to stick with 40/1 anyways I was just wondering if my jetting is now messed up because I switched my oil to 40/1. I'll get you my pilot number once I get done with work!
  16. so do you think I should try a 32/1 mix with 93?
  17. elavation where I ride is a little under 800ft riding temps = 70-80 degrees, and I still have the airbox just no lid with pre filter
  18. alright maybe I will try 32/1 amsoil and then keep my 260 main and go 1.5 out and on clip 3 like fmf says. just to see if I should go up or down on everything.
  19. wondering if this jetting issue is do to the fact that I changed my oil/mix it was 32/1 with polaris pure an i changed it 40/1 with amsoil interceptor, so goin with less oil im guessing going with a bigger main and turning pilot out a bit more?
  20. alrighty haha i was looking at tors delete idle, not pilot
  21. alrighty just ripped into the carbs for the first time today. I came out to have 260 mains. I couldnt't find a number on the pilot's if I was looking at the correct screw, to me they are a long screw with a lock nut and a taper at the end of the screw. They were turned all the way into the carb. Also my right side needle was slightly bent, I may have bent it myself whille pulling them out of the carb. Both plugs were the same color grey with deposits on them. The banshee doesnt smoke at all after it reachs running temp, i'm running amsoil interceptor 40/1, I doubt it was ever leak tested after the rebuild, I did a check on exhaust leaks but never intake leaks. I was assembeled by a local powersports guy back in 2011 and was rode 4 times after the rebuild until i got ahold of it. I went for a 60 mile ride and it was fine until the last 5 miles.
  22. Hello everyone, I just recently purchased a banshee that was rebuilt top and bottom end profesionally. bored .30 over long rod with boysen reeds and fmf gold series exhaust and powercore 2 scilencers. The jetting however was not done right. It seems to run fine but might have a small bog right before you hit the power band and once you shut the quad off after it is warm You cant get it to start unless you push start it. I pulled my plugs out and they had a greyish look with some carbon like deposits. the engine runs at about 180 in 60 degree weather, normally ill be riding in 75-80 degree weather. just wondering how many turns stock the pilot and needle should be out an if i should go up or down a size on mains. Thank you for your time!
