I should start by saying "Hi" and thanks for letting me join your forums. Tons of great info around here. I've been lurking for a while but this is my first time posting.
Ok, now onto my problem. I decided to trade my dirt bike and get another Banshee. I found one that just had the engine professionally rebuilt but but all the rest of the assembly was done by the owner. It fires up first kick and it's in pretty good condition, the only issue was that it bogged down pretty heavy until 1/2 throttle. I've done some basic carb work on my dirtbikes so I figured it should be an easy fix. I got it home and fired it up again, still fired right up but also still bogged on the throttle. I started to tear into it today and the carb slides were in backwards and it had no idle screws! I took care of the slides, ordered idle screws, resync'd (by window) and tried starting it... Nothing.. I messed with the airscrew (backed out half turn at a time) and still nothing. I'm assuming it's not going to be anything too major but just looking for some ideas on where to start. I'm still kind of in shock that it idled like it did with the slides backwards honestly.
Here's what I know for sure right now.
.030 over piston
Toomey T5's
K&N pods
320 main jet
Needle 4th clip from top
Got nice blue spark
Plug was damp w/ fuel but not soaked
I haven't gotten the idle screws yet so right now it's relying on the cable (I know, that doesn't help matters).
I don't know what size pilots it's has and I'm assuming that may be a big part of the problem. Just want to get some thoughts from you gentlemen on where I should start.
Any help would be appreciated.
