  1. I literally have a package from Rocky Mountain ATV sitting on my front porch.  Should've thrown this in the cart.  I have an exhaust spring puller but it's for a vehicle and the tip isn't "thin" like that one.  I use vice grips to hold the springs and then attempt to manhandle those little bastards.

  2. I may keep the T5's.  Just rebuilt my top end with trail ported cylinders and it feels great.  I have a chance to try some PC's at Busco next weekend if I feel like swapping them out.   But I have stock carbs, 320 mains, needle on middle clip, 27.5 pilots, pods, VF4's, timing set to +5.  Compression is 159/158, running 101 octane fuel.

  3. Thanks bigweav. It's been a long time coming. Grew up riding and racing MX. Started at age 4 on a Yamaha Moto4 80, moved up to the blaster and started racing MX at 13, moved to a banshee at 15 and then got it all taken away when I did some stupid shit at age 18. Went without a bike for almost 10 years. Got a nice 250R ~2 years ago and loved everything but the power so it had to go and bought this one March 2015. It had issues so I began spending money hand over foot till I finally got it all right. I'm extremely pleased with the bike now. Wouldn't get rid of it for anything. Hell, now that I know banshees, I want to buy another for cheap and build it to suit

  4. I've been at it for a few weeks rebuilding my top end.  The new parts include

Ported stock cylinders  - Hardcore trail "surfport"

Cool Head with 20 cc domes

    Wiseco pistons

    All cometic gaskets

    Trail Tech TTO temp gauge

    New tie rod ends

I took my time as this was a first for me.  Learned to measure squish, built a leak down tester and acquired a lot of tools along the way.  I want to say thanks to Surfrjag for all of his help fielding my rookie questions throughout the rebuild.

I ended up with 158/159 PSI, no leaks (eventually), squish at .059.  Dropped a tooth on the front sprocket so I'm at 13/41 now.  Jetting is now set at 320 mains, needle in the middle and 27.5 pilots and plug chop says I'm a little rich but it sure doesn't feel that way so I'm going to roll with it.  The cool head definitely seems to be keeping engine temps cooler too.  overall, I'm very excited with my build and can't wait to hit Busco on the 25th

Took a short vid when I took it out for the "torture test" last weekend.  Launching in 2nd now with the lower gearing

  5. I had the same experience as Sandking.  All of my transmission issues were with 2nd gear.  I sent mine off thinking only 2nd would need replacing and the builder tore it down and showed me the cause of the issue plus bad wear on other gears that I wasn't having any trouble with (yet).   In the end, I replaced 4 gears and forks.   I also had him do the ProMod.  Shifts smooth as butter now and haven't hit neutral by accident since.

  6. Geez, it's not that bad guys.  I mean, I wouldn't have paid to have that done to it myself.  maybe just the camo pattern minus the zombie shit

I haven't even been in the safe for several months, been busy with brewing and riding lately but I'd sell it for some over inflated price to a crazed Walking Dead fan and get something else before I painted over an expensive cerakote job that, tacky or not, could help me sell it for more than its worth.  I got so many extras (21 mags, 1,000 + rounds, extra upper receiver, extra magpull stock, 2 x cheap red dots & various parts) I just couldn't pass up the deal.  It's pretty reliable and accurate as fuck which is all I really care about anyway
