  1. I have a 98 banshee and a 88 R. I'm selling my Banshee, I prefer the R. But the Banshee is quick, very quick with just a set of pipes. But then again my stock bore R is 100cc LESS than my banshee. I came from bikes and the R just feels better, I like the way it turns and flys. The shee is a great drag machine and for tearing up the straights. I would have loved to dump the money into the suspension like my R came. That being said, I haven't told you anything you already didn't know. No reason to bash other 2 strokers, the 4 stroke guys is the ones I get tired defending my 2 stroke choice.
  2. My personal experience, I THOUGHT that I still needed my Yamaha R6 and kept it this spring. I should have sold it. I bought a hold over 2003 1200cc sportster and put 10K miles on it this year. The R6 got 1200 miles. DON"T BuY A 883. If you hang onto it, you will want the 1200cc for modifing and resale. HD's are not learnly as refined, but that is what makes them fun, I tinker. Like with the Banshee and my Honda 250R. (I think I have too many toys...) Next for me, sell the R6 and sporster and start on a full up custom softail, the V twin is kind of an addiction for me now. Good luck, insurance is 1/2 of what I pay for my R6. (Don't worry, with a different seat I was able to get 800 miles a day for a 2000 mile trip I took) And resale is so much better than the hit I am anticipating when I put the R up for sale.
  3. It was also on the radio talk this morning here in MN. sounds like it was a very pumped up Honda 1000cc. And the air patrol got him at 205mph and 190mph. So he was up around 200 mph! Also the guy with him got a ticket for 111mph. And here in MN you don't get hauled directly to jail but he will have a court date. I can't imagine 200mph, I guess those cops kids have some $$.
  4. I have a 98 with lots of aftermarket equipment for 3100. You should be able to get a slightly modded shee for less. You lose big bucks on your aftermarket parts, the same parts that you will start to buy with a stock one. my 2 cents. -Marc
  5. The Trinity 2 into 1 is the best thing that I did to my Shee in my opinion. And the larger carb seems to not lose the top end that everyone said would happen with a 2 into 1. Best setup for the type of riding that I do, anyway I didn't like dealing with two carbs. As far reliability, haven't had the R long enough to see. Can't say that the Shee has been all that reliable anyway. Take it easy -Marc
  6. I have found another love, I picked up a 1988 250R to go with my 1998 Banshee. My Shee is pretty stock with a Trinity 2 into 1 with 39mm carb and a cool head, works dual rate and FMF pipes. But the R has some goodies on it, +4 Dura blue axle, +2+1 Laeger arms, porting/polishing, hinson clutch, fmf pipe with Curtis Sparks silencer, bead lockers and Works triple rate. Boy I am now wishing that my Banshee had the suspension that new R has! The R does handle better but the Banshee still rips in the straights. I think that I will have to keep them BOTH! Trying to stay away from the 4 strokes. -Marc
  7. 2 stroke, that's all I own. My 50 year old father rides a 400ex, that is exactly what a 4 stroke is; an OLD man's machine!
  8. Quicksand it is.. Since I am just sport riding this one, I was thinking about powder coated. I assume that he has a bunch of colors? Also the swing arms. They are all ready to go with carriers and will except my stock axle for now? Also is there such a thing as a "no link" swing arm like the Honda's for the Banshee? Thanks you guys have give me some great ideas to blow my tax return.
  9. Folks: Same old A-arms questions. Tax return is back and it is time to get the front end of the banshee widened. I was thinking about the ALBA? http://alba.buyol.com/Item/ALBBAN21.htm Anyone else have good bad experiences with their +2+1 a arms? I mostly do trail riding with this Banshee. Thanks -Marc
