  1. Thanks for the replies. I have seen the k&s seal kit so I will probably go with it. Does it include all the seals I mentioned above? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Hi, I am in the middle of rebuilding my top end and replacing the crank seals as one of them is leaking air. Since I have the cases split in half I wanted to replace the following seals Crank seals Seal behind front sprocket Shift lever seal Clutch push lever seal Kick start seal Are these all included in the tusk engine seal kit? Or should I buy them separately from the dealers? Has anybody used this kit, is it any good? Also is there any other seals I should replace. This is my first time splitting the cases since I have owned the shee. Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Yea I have been readin this site quite a bit over the winter so have a list of all these things to do when I get it runnin again, leak down test, compression test, plug chop to see how my jettin is. Just wanted some of u guys advice to see if it was anywhere close. Good idea with the magnet in the crankcase. I have the gear oil drained and clutch cover off to check the water pump as I know they are common to fail. I have plans to do a lot to mine but the summer is creepin up already so just want to get it running again to get out on it! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Hi All This is my first post here. So first off Hello from Northern Ireland! I bought a 2003 Banshee last April and ran it all over the summer. It then went into the garage over the winter. The quad ran great the whole summer, well I thought it ran great but then again this is my first quad and first two stroke. So the whole summer the quad started first or second kick from cold but always seemed to smoke more from the left exhaust than the right. As the quad was being stored away over the winter I thought this the best opportunity to take some parts off and clean them, the carbs being the main ones. While I had the carbs, reeds and exhausts off I was able to look up into the cylinders and noticed the right piston had a small part broke off. I believe this may have been part of the reason why the left cylinder wouldn’t have been smoking as much? Possibly lower in compression? So I have pulled the cylinders off and there is part of the piston and ring broke off, I am hoping these have went out the exhaust port and not down into the crankcase. The pistons that were in the quad were Pro X .50 oversized. I have the cylinders away getting re-bored out and new pistons. The quad is completely stock apart from the tailpipes. There is the stock fat part of the exhaust but seems to be some sort of aftermarket silencers on the back. There is no make or model number on them. Just blue tailpipes. Everything else is stock. My question is, the carbs had a 200 main jet and a 25 pilot jet and the air screw was 4 turns out. My elevation is between 50ft and 300ft above sea level and my riding temperatures vary between 50 – 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Does the jetting sound right on the quad? I run the quad on normal 95 octane unleaded fuel with a 32:1 mix with Castrol Power 2T Racing. While the cylinders have been away I have got a compression tester and made a leak down tester (thanks to guide on this site) and will test these when I reassemble the quad. Like I said this is my first 2 stroke so any help will be much appreciated! Thanks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
