  1. Ok i tried my buddies banshee and it went well. He told me the think had a stroker kit and i thought it did but i just talked to the previous owner and he said it was not. Says it was bone stock. If that thing was bone stock it was a sick stock banshee lol. Do the stock ones really go this good? Here is a video of it

  2. Probably not lol. Worry about that when we get there haha. I was able to get a hold of the previous owner of this banshee before my buddy had it and i guess he still has the swing arm and rear shock, axle and some other stuff so all i need now is the steering stem and tierods and it will be a roller. Then i can start on the engine. Anyone got a stem kicking around ? Lol

  3. Haha well ive ridin bikes before. Friends of mine have had cr 250s and a buddy of mine has a banshee and raptors. I ride them often enough to know how to ride them. Do i need this crazy power im looking for ? No not really but if i have a banshee in gonna want it. Like the others said.. If ur down in there and in the process of rebuilding, might as well do it right. I mean stock power would im sure be enough to satisfy me but its never enough lol.

  4. nice find man.. i just picked up a project as well.. i see u have the parts im missing haha but i got mine free.. mine has much more work to be done to it as well but they are fun to work on. i can use ur pics to be able to tell where some things go. thanks for the pics.. post more when u can. i have a manual but the manual doesnt really say where to mount the electricals.. i plan to upgrade to a arm frame eventually. nice find though

  5. ok thanks.. i will look into the sponsors.. is there any of them that u preffer? i have never built a wheeler before. i have built a few bikes but never went down into the motor like i have to this one.. i want it to be done right and run right.. i have alot of work ahead of me but its a banshee.. i have always wanted one growing up..

  6. 4mil is a good option, if yours needs crank bearing who knows how much longer the rod bearings are going to last.

    Things you should need are

    4 mil crank

    domes and coolhead

    Stroker pistons

    pancake bearing

    Oil seals

    Gaskets

    Adjustable timing plate

    porting for the 4mil

    Good clutch

    Right pipes

    What pipes have you got?

I like pro circuits for your style of build

You will be fine with stock carbs but its nice to get rid of the tors.

I would really like to get the dmc 916's.

Can all these parts u named off be bought on ebay? And can i get some kind of kit thag includes all the seals and bearings so i dont have to buy everything all seperate? I really apreciate the help. This site is awesome

  7. Pretty flexible on the budget as i plan to make this a long term project. Reasonable price i guess. I guess when all said and done probably 1000-1500 on just the motor if i can get away with that. I dont reallly have any specific plans for the bike. Just good low to mid range power. All around use for around my land and some country riding. I dont race just play .

  8. Hey guys im new to these forums and banshees all together. I just picked up a 1987 banshee as a project as ive never had one of these before and it was all in boxes when i got it. I have almost everything to put it together so i want to do it as a project even if it takes me yrs.

So far i have painted the frame and j arms and put the front end together. Still waiting for the guy i got it from to get me the rear end parts so it can start to be a roller, i have most of the engine.. I need cylinders and the motor has to be rebuilt. Thats where my first question comes in.

What way should i go with the engine rebuild? Should i go all out and do a stroker kit or should i just do a stock rebuild? Im looking for the most reliability but still trying to get some good power out of it. Can anyone suggest what i should do for the motor?

This is what i have done so far
