  1. Finished a rebuild on a project 'shee, head was heli coiled pretty crudely, i time serted one stud insert out of necessity, passed on the other 9. 160lbs of compression upon assembly. 3 seconds of idle, opened the wick a few times and it backfires, blows my head studs out. The pro design head is salvageable i believe, but i need some cylinders. Or a whole top end kit. Stock bore right now, but if i could get big bore cylinders for the right price i can pick up a set of pistons. Would love a ported cylinder set with pistons to match. Could use plastics, could use stronger a arms.

Have stock swingarm w/linkage if anyone needs it. also stock bore pistons i suppose if anybody needed them.

  2. If you are turning your air screw in, and it is idling better as you turn it in, your pilot is too lean for you area. You are effectively cutting off airflow as you screw your air screws in. You probably have stock 25 pilots, Its really hard to diagnose a problem with such a small explanation. Does it run alright other than at idle? Would you be able to tell if it truly is running decent on the needle and main jet circuit?  Give us some more info on this situation. A carb sync and rejet can do wonders.

First things first, get rid of the stock pipes and filters and bump up the stock jets. You shouldn't have to starve it for air to idle unless you have a soiled air filter. Does it idle at 2 turns out on the air screw with the enrichener pulled? (choke)

  3. Could be wet side crank seal brother. After sitting for that long, for sure check needles and seats, Fuel adjustment screw, and float height. Purchase a service manual asap. What size jets are in the carb at this moment?? What is your air screw setting, needle setting? Is it smoking what seems to be an unusual amount? If you don't know what an unusual amount is, i suggest looking at some videos of banshees running. You say it has a timing plate but don't tell the setting.

Give us some more info on this and it will be squared away.
