  1. I have stock cylinders with a dune port.  175 psi compression.  V force IV reeds.  Toomey T5 pipes.  PWK 35mm Air Striker carbs.  Carb mount air cleaners.

My bike guzzles gas and sounds like it is splattering in the 1/8 to 1/4 throttle range.  It's not the ting, ting sound.  Just kinda a splattering sound.  Thing is, it has no hesitation or performance issues.  If I'm idling along and nail the throttle, it is instant response.

My jets are 50 pilot, DCE needle, 140 main and 4.5 slide.

Does that sound right to you.  Doesn't that seem fat on the lower end and lean on the main jet?

The motor was ported and built by Kip at Dune Trash Racing.  I assume he jetted the carbs as well.  Most probably have not heard of Dune Trash Racing. He hasn't been building in 15 or 20 years.  This bike was stored for many years.

  2. I have A arms that have a 14mm 1.5 pitch thread end(ball joint).  Someone said 72 VW bud would fit that thread size and the Banshee spindle.  The VW bug ball joint does have the correct thread to screw into the a arm, but the other end that bolts to the spindle is too large to go into the spindle hole.

Does anyone know what ball joint will be 14mm 1.5 pitch thread and the other end fits into a Banshee spindle?

  3. OK.  Clutch is fried on a "new to me" shee.  Mods are ported stock cylinders, aftermarket carbs, T5's and +6 in the rear.  I'm in between jobs right now,.. so looking for a affordable fix.  What is the Tusk clutch like?  45 bucks compared to the $175 for a Hinson.  Will a Tusk hold up for a while with my setup?  Or any other suggestions?

I am far from broke and can afford any clutch on the market... just being frugile while lookiing.

    Regards,

  4. OK.. I purchased a shee recently that had been built by Kip at Dune Trash Racing.  Nothing special. Stock stroke Hot Rods welded crank, dune port job, aftermarket carbs.  BUT, there is a boost bottle on the bike.  I don't get it!  Aren't those supposed useless in any applicaton??  Just an additional potential for an air leak?

Any ideas why that thing would be on this quad??

    Thanks

  5. The ebay add has the option of as cast or ported serval jugs. Be careful who you let port the serval. So far, customers from Redline Racing only proved that redline racing is able to port a serval and not lose low end power. FAST does claim the same but the only chart a customer posted, they gained mostly top end and the power band came on later.

I have a dune bansee.  Looking for a trail motor on this one!!

  6. OK... just purchased my first banshee.  Blaster owner previously.  Question is which paddle tires do you prefer for the dunes.  There is the type that makes the V on each tire and there is the type that the each paddle runs horizontal to the tire.  Obviously the V type provides more horizontal stability, but which to you prefer for the dunes.  We don't do much sand trail riding at the dunes.

Mods are minimal... a cool head, high compression domes and T5's.

    Thanks
