I have tie rods but lost the nuts on the end. Do I need a specific type or can I just put any nut on it and possibly a pin I can find around the house through the little hole?
-
Im going to investigate everyone I can, how much do the sponsers usually charge for port jobs, etc.?
-
What do you mean by start over? Buy new juggs? Ill research Kevin and see what I come up with, like I said lots of decisions just trying to figure out the best one. The reason why i want to start stock is so i can feel the addition of power over time, like actually feel every upgrade doing its job.
-
If i had a stock cylinder, and put a race port on it, and later got a 4 mil crank in it, would there be room to port it after I have already ported it with a stock crank?
-
So many things to take in my heads going to explode, making me feel like I should just get everything stock and upgrade from there...shits crazy lol
-
Just checked out his site, sounds like a man amongst boys. Lets say I wanted to go big in the future (7-10 mil) and I trenched the cases got bigger cylinder heads or whatever, would that be a pain in the ass on a trail? Like i said im ablut 50/50 trail and street, I dont want a drag or have to put a wheelie bar or any of that shit.

Thanks to both of you for the replies. Im going to have to call them soon, only problem is Im all the way down Miami and my mechanic usually does ally work. I dont wanna call them and use them for their advice is im not going to pay them for the job lol, sounds kind of messed up. Either way im definately starting stock and probably gettong a 4 mil in that thang as well.

Ya i figured I would need upgraded cylinder heads if I got a upgraded crank. I pretty much got everything straight. Just trying to figure out what type of engine build im going to want...which could be the hardest part lol.
-
Awesome, at what point is race gas necessary? Would it be a necessity with only a 4 mil?
-
Great advice man thanks, now i pretty much understand what the +4 mil means etc. As far as my susupension goes Im trying to get this thing running for as cheap as I can and just upgrading it later. What type of carbs would you suggest? In terms of buying a motor already completed; I definately like that idea the only advantage I have by not doing that is the amount of money I spend. My mechanic down here does alot of work for free so going stock may be better because he can just port it and what not himself. I definately wanna go with a +4 mil crank since I wont have to change anythinf at first. I would like to go bigger then that. When you say getting your chases trenched are you reffering to top, bottom, or both!

What up boys, Im working on my first banshee build and I must say I dont know much about building a banshee. Ive worked on many two stroke dirt bikes and I know they're rather similar but I want to get down to the specifics. So Here I have a bunch of questions. I live down in Miami, Florida so I do a bunch of street riding/racing but I also tend to hit the few trails we have down here. I bought everything needed for a rolling frame, and I wanted to keep all the swing arms shocks and axles stock for now. Now im getting close to looking for a engine. Im wondering if I should buy a stock engine and just bore it out and race port it or if I theres a certain type of way to do this. Im aware of a cheetah kit my neighbor has one on his bike and Im not really trying to get that deep right yet. If I bought upgraded carbs would I need to upgrade other parts of my engine or just jet it properly? Would I need to update my bottom end if I bored out and ported my top end or can I keep that stock? Or is it better to upgrade? What does it mean when people say 4 mil and 3 mil and all of that? Those are just a few questions I can think of at the moment, theres definitely more to come.
Also- I want to make sure I put brand new screws bolts and washers on this bike because I hate when assholes strip shit on bikes. What type of screws would I need, I know theres kits and stuff but theres no way that will be enough and I wont know where to put what where for the most part.
Thanks for the help!

Pretty much got everything I needed on my list thanks guys.

Im in the process of getting all that, if all else fails Ill definately shoot you a PM. Still need a frame with a title(or atleast a clean VIN I can register) 97+

Might need a new set of stock rims, mine look a little bent. Looking for a deal on those could be used as long as they aren't bent

I bought a set of rims and when I took them home I noticed one was kinda misshaped. I'm wondering if its that much of a big deal? Still looks alright.

All i need now is a clean frame with a title (preferably 1999+) an axle with bearings and components as well as swing arm. PM or text 305 409 6037

Looking for mostly stock parts
Frame with vin and clean title (A Arm)
Lower and upper A Arms with components
Front tires (21x7x10)
Axle with hubs, rotor, bearing etc
Front shocks
Rear shocks
Basically anything to make a rolling chassis have a few parts already. PM Reply or Text 305 409 6037
Looking for trail tires (dirt) just a little clarification.

Ya it was just the frame, I just craigslist'ed it so its gone. Now I need a new frame with a title if anyone knows of anywhere I can get one besides eBay.
-
Ya it didn't sound like the best solution. I just have no idea how to get a VIN, I've went to DMVs and it didn't really solve much.
Quick easy question regarding tie rods.

Awesome, ya thats exactly what I was talking about. Wasent sure about the name. If noone has them laying around Ill just do what ZillaFreak suggested, I just noticed the shocks I had dont have any rubber pieces that connect to the A Arms that would basically secure it more in place, not sure what those are called either maybe bushings or seals.. Would they be necessary or once everything is bolted down and the frame has some weight on it it would just stay in place?
