  1. It sure is eating coolant. Took the head off and the pistons are clean. No carbon buildup. Head is warped. We'll see where this gets me
  2. I have a 1999 banshee. I just rebuilt it and it fired right up. Ran it through heat cycles and as soon as I got on to ride it, I put it in gear and when I opened up it had less than half the power it should have and bogged down and died. Fires right up again. You can rev it to the moon with slight bogging when it is in neutral but once In gear it doesn't want to move. Tore it apart and set the carbs upright on a table and turned the gas on. Came out the next day and it was dripping gas out of the carburetors. Threw them back on and fired it up. The gAs wasn't feeding into the carbs very well and after A while it wouldnt start back up. I filled a squirt bottle with gas and squirted it into the carbs through the gas line. It fired up but bogged really bad. The first few times I blipped the throttle it blew smoke out of both carbs. After a little it only shot out of one carb and came out of the the other one a little bit every once in a while. Shut it off and then fired it up again. It ran off of the other cylinder only And the one running alone the last time I ran it didn't blow out anything. Took out the plugs and white smoke, not blue smoke, was coming out of the running cylinder. I have no idea what is going on.
  3. Okay so I put the carbs together and set them upright on a bench and let gas flow into them. Let them sit overnight and came out in the morning to gas all over the table. There are 2 holes on the intake side. The one on the bottom is leaking gas. What causes this?
  4. When I turn the gas on it's a fight just to get gas into the carb. I have a clear tube and I can see that there is an air pocket not allowing gas to flow into the carbs. after a bit of messing around I get gas in it and it will drip out of the vent hose from the bowl but not very fast.
  5. I have a 1999 banshee. a few mods but mainly stock. wiseco top and bottom end, bored .030 over to clean up the cylinder, and dg pipes. It will choose which carb to run on and won't idle. sometimes it will run on both carbs sometimes only one. when I go to ride it, I stick it in gear and it is absolutely gutless. I open it up and once I hit the higher rpm,s it slows back down and boggs until it shuts off. Then it will start up again. I switched the carbs to see if that would make a difference and put a longer choke tube on (it wrapped up over the carbs and onto the other side. it ran for a while with the same issues then wouldn't start at all. I then decided to tear into it and here are my findings. comp is 115 and the plug is getting the charge it needs. I took the plugs out after running it and they were soaked. tore the air filter off and the boots were both soaked with gas as well as the reed valve boots. It's flooding horribly. needles are at 3rd clip, 200 main jets and 25 pilot. float is set to 22 mm. there is a small visible ring around the rubber tip of the float valve needle. I'm assuming that's the issue but are there any other ideas?
