when you say 70 what are you referring to. Also since you have to go for a full rebuild why not throw a decent crank in like something from hotrods.
-
yeah alot of sites sell it as well as amazon. i highly suggest finding one. i believe i ordered mine from amazon.
-
do you have a clymer manual for the banshee? if not i highly recommend it. its helped me a lot so far.
-

I recently picked up a bone stock 2000 banshee. it needs some tlc but overall its pretty solid. I know the carbs arent adjusted right. the guy i bought it from brang it down from michigan but didnt know where it was jetting for. im guessing since it spent years up there, its jetted for michigan. it cant idle for crap so i tried adjusted the pilot air screws to factory 2 turns out. it would not idle at all and was a pain to start. i had to take it down to 1 turn out and it idles okay not the best. i cannot do alot of work as far as tearing it apart right now. just wanted some ideas. no mods even down to foam filter.

-
nice i think i may go to 50:1 ratio thanks for the info
-
i would suggest atleast getting new silencers the pc2 from fmf arent too bad i had those on mine for a couple years. not really sure if you can or not lol.

i was running amsoil dominator at 40:1 ive always had good luck with amsoil dominator. ill continue to run it, what would you recommend for it ratio wise?
-
Ive seen alot of people say that they run 50:1 in their shee's. That just doesnt seem safe, i would be kinda worried to run 50:1. I ran 40:1 and never ever had a fouled plug, when it was jetted correctly. So my question is why is the reasoning behind 50:1 is it safe how many of you would recommend running it. Thanks

I would suggest consulting the manual for what yamaha recommends. You should always check the gap when you buy new sparkplugs. As far as if you have engine work done, what i would suggest is consult a reputable builder.

i rode my banshee in the mountains of colorado, yah there were places i could get on it. but there were also times were i really wasnt on it alot going up rocky parts ditches. etc. and my banshee ran like a champ. like i said previously dominator gets my vote.

Banshee build, have a few questions.
Slayar71 replied to Slayar71's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
oh i wouldnt do my own porting i know that for a fact i would send that out. but assembly of the engine and such i can do. like i said my type of riding will be all around, dunes, trail, atv parks, not any kind of serious drag racing or dune drag. im just looking for more performance that the stock 350 has. So it will be all around riding i guess if i had to say low mid or high end performance mid to high is more to me than low end. i would prefer something that has some legs to wind out. i dont know how to explain it more lol aggressive trail? lol. no drag racing tho expect for shits and giggles not serious.its not gettin an extended swing arm or things of that nature. im prolly going to put a +2 +1 laegers front end kit on it. -

zillafreak that actually make me chuckle lol. but im pretty mechanically inclined. i actually work on turbine engines and if i can half understand those lol i think im good. i would like to do most of the work myself except things i cant do like porting and such. some good info thanks guys -
HI all, When i get back from my deployment im going to start my banshee build. Ive owned a stock one with pipes reeds etc.. but i want a little more power out of it. I was thinking about doing a 4mil on it, or a bore kit. which do yall think is better or both? I would like to be sitting around 400cc, i will most likely run stock airbox modified. Also can yall give me a list of parts to upgrade clutch, carbs, and such. also what pipes would you recommend i was thinking cpi small bore inframe. I intend to trail ride, atv parks, dunes, and such. Money isnt an issue because im going to do it properly. all im interested in is yalls opinion and direction as far as parts and such. any opinions would be gratelly appriciated thank you.

I ran dominator on my banshee mixed at 40:1 when i was in colorado riding in the mountains. I never had a problem with amsoil dominator i would recommend it over the interceptor, its good oil.

4mm crank shaft with stock bore
Slayar71 replied to paisaroni_mario's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
So for a 4mil kit, would you stay with a stock rod or go for the long rod. What are the advantages and disadvantages?
