  1. I bought the swingarm and chain of craiglist for $110 so can return the chain. I looked at the chain and it looks barely used so I don't want to spend money if I don't have too. I read of people using 2 master links here on BHQ is that advisable?

I'll probably switch back to the stock gearing. I rode it ibce since I got it and it seemed to top out pretty quick.

  2. I got my banshee used and it already had a 47t rear sprocket. Not sure if that's for lower top speed or what. I also found a 41t sprocket which I think is the stock on. Anyways what is better for all around riding?

I bougt a +4 swingarm and it came with with a chain. I installed it and the chain is to short like 8-9 links and I mocked up the stock sprocket and its still short like 5 links. I even pushed the axle all the way in on the chain tensioner. Do you guys know what size chain I need or do I just count the links an add extra?

  3. I thought of compiling a list of parts that are compatible with the Banshee that come from other ATV's. Maybe make it an ongoing list as people find more compatible parts. Also list what the benefits are and what is needed to be done. I'll start from some stuff I found just from researching.

YFZ450 front shocks. I read these are a good upgrade over the stock Banshee shocks. It requires a little grinding on the top and bottom shock mounting locations.

Honda 300EX front shocks - If your looking to lower your front end for drag or MX racing. It will lower the front 2-3". Not recommended for jumping or rough trail riding. Spacers might be needed for the bushings as the 300ex bushings are thinner.

R6 rear shock - Will also lower the rear end of the bike. The banshee bolt won't fit the R6 bushings though. You can have a new bushing made or possibly use a smaller bolt but the latter is not recommended though.

If you guys have anything to add please do or correct anything I posted. I haven't tried any of these myself just stuff I have found from researching after I got my Banshee a month ago.

  4. you know your shock is fucked when it wont come back up after you push the suspension down

They come right back up when I push them down, is there anything else to look for?

I plan on sending them to Matt but I want to make sure they need rebuilding before I spend the money as 1 of the banshee's needs some work/money to get running.

  5. I bought 2 banshees for $2000, one works and one doesn't. Anyways. In the box of parts if found a set of Piggyback PEP shocks, they look really dirty. I pushed down on them and they were really hard came back up quickly.

On the non running banshee there was a set of Works non piggy's. One of the Rods look a little bent.

Anyways my question is how do I know it they need rebuilding or just a little cleaning? Is it possible to bend the rod back?
