  3. Well guys i got my phone back out of it so that is 500 bones back into my pocket. the cops said i could take him to court and try to win the bike back that way. but i think i would rather have the banshee. I am sure i can do the work myself on it. Does anyone know where is the best site/place to get the manuals for me to get started on this? someone on this thread said that 99% of shifting problems are pretty simple to fix. any suggestions ??thanks alot guys
  4. Thats awesome. i am pretty sure me and my biker buddy are gunna go strong arm him into giving the bike back. does not look like the police are going to do much hahaha . thanks for all the replies guys.
  5. Thanks alot guys for all the help and comments. Its been awesome! good to know i have people that know what they are talking about and dont charge $100/hr lol
  6. Sorry guys my bad. I dont have a cracked case. I ment split the case lol. there is some Canadian terms for yea haha. I had a 2001 honda CR250 and traded for what i thought was 2003 banshee 350 it was a 97
  7. Yea but isnt there a tool to make the clutch case not move while you take the nut off. then is there not another special tool to take off the fly wheel ??
  8. Yea i looked at the vin number under the shifter. it shows that its a 97. but my problem is not that its older then my bike.. my problem is that he lied about the year and that he put a false VIN number on the bill of sale . then lied about what was wrong with it. I live in cranbrook Canada. I am not sure how it works here ... still waiting for the police to call me back. they are totally useless when you need them... but there the first ones there when you dont need them haha
  9. I pulled the clutch cover off an was about to kinda see the shift star. I dont have the special tool to get the nut off the clutch basket. It looks like it is a high gear. When i press up it feels like it its rock solid. when you press down it goes like half way only and wont shift. when i pull the shift shaft away from the star you are able to move it up and down pretty good. would that mean its something in the tranny ??
  10. You mean a used motor??
  11. Yea it was a yamaha dealer. they said they could tell just by the red and white plastics . then i looked up the vin number and it showed it was 97.
  12. there was a bill of sale . and on the bill of sale he lied about the year and VIN number. I am pretty sure i can get ahold of him again
  13. Oh and i called the guy he said if i wanna give him $800 for new parts he put on the bike.
  14. So i wanted to know if anyone has had a similar experience. I had 2001 CR250 posted it for trade for quad. got a call from a guy saying he had a 2003 banshee 350 . He showed up with the quad and it had some trouble shifting into gears. He told me that the shift lever was causing it. Long story short took the trade. 2 days later i take it to have looked over and the guys say the case has to be cracked. $1000 to repair . and he kept saying it was a 97 so i looked into it. And sure enough it was a 97 not 03 and the guy made up fake VIN number. Is there any way to get my bike back or am i screwed??
  15. I drained the oil and there was very little shavings in the oil. what screw is that?? what is the best way to get the bolt off the clutch?? and if it is the shift forks i have to crack the case right ? i think it is pretty close to stock. it has some new reeds on it and a set of of bills dual pipes but that is the most that was done to it.
  16. Thanks guys for all your help. NOT!!!
  17. Hey guys i just traded my cr250 for a 2003 banshee 350. The guy told me that he bent the lever for the shifter and that it was hard to shift. He said it was a fair trade off since he had to buy a new pipe for the cr250. well after the guy leaves i go take it out and the shifting is horriable i cant shift into any gears but 2nd and 3rd and even those were hard to shift between . when you press on the shifter it feels like it is rock solid stuck. I thought it might be a bent shifter shaft. some friends say it could be a clutch issue. If it was the clutch would it not not idle with the clutch in?? and if its the shifter shaft would you be able to tell from just taking the outter case off ?? Please help and dont tell me i have to split the case
