If you don't do the rotor guard setup like jds, I run a Moose one that is Stout as hell and I'm not easy on skids as I ride some nasty trail but it's held up better than the other 2 skids I ran -
I have some dual rate works that are like 1/4" shorter than stock, definitely lowers the front end, how much couldn't tell ya

Yes stock length will work but an aftermarket shock setup for the +2+1 will work even better, I may be interested in selling a set of works shocks that are 14.5", stocks are 14.75" it does lower the front end

Possible your throttle cable needs rerouted? Vibration causing it to hang and bind maybe?
