  1. I unhooked the parking brake and all tores before trying to start it. If its possible I think the groove on the slide is facing the left side. So is it possible I have the carbs on the wrong sides. I'm not 100% sure but think it faces the left. I didn't think I could put them on opposite sides and still hook up the crossover tube. I will double check all this tomorrow night. What size main jet sounds right for this once the toomey t-5 pipes show up
  2. I took the parking brake off. I didnt realise there were so many little things that can cause such big problems. thank you guys. thats why i joined here, i figured this is where the most knowledge would be.
  3. I wasnt trying to be sarcastic at all. I apologise if it came off like that. If i was a genious with quads i wouldnt be on here asking for help.
  4. I assembled the motor myself. Im new to the banshee but not to quads, i also have a raptor 700 that i have done over several times to get it where i want it.Its a 105.5 bore with a +5mm hotrods crank,54mm TB with a racersedge +2 head,dynatek,pc5 and much more making it a 778cc. The arrow on the top of the pistons are facing the exhaust and the windows are facing the carbs
  5. I unpluged the tors brain box and cut the wires. the crossover tube is connected, carbs are synced. the only thing is i didnt check the bowl to make sure i didnt switch them
  6. the cut outs are facing the back of the quad so they must be in right. stock pilot jets. the idle dont bother me as much as the fact that nobody seems to know why it wont rev up at all. I mixed fresh gas 40:1 put a new petcock in the tank, new fuel line. completly tore the caebs apart and cleaned them. sealed the around the reeds with black utv gasket sealer with new gaskets cause i thought maybe it was sucking air. moved the clip up on the needle valve tried stock main jets cause it acted like its way to rich. none of these things changed it 1 little bit. im lost at this point
  7. Im pretty sure there in the right way,but i have had 3 other people ask me that. so iam questioning myself now. I assumed they are in right. i was told you can get them mixed up from one side to the other. if this is the case would the slide have a normal gap at the bottom (which it does) in the closed position. or would the slide be completly closing off the carb. I guess what im asking is can you switch them and still have it look normal inside or would it be obvious i have them switched
  8. will the idle screws keep it from revving up or just help with idle. ha i actually watched that video today trying to find an answer
  9. I unpluged all connections foor the tors. all i cut was the plug connectors for the tors and the throttle switch. I had the running problem before i did any of cutting. the guy i got it from couldnt get it to run after he installed the v force 3 reeds and jet kit. then i got it and rebuilt it, decided to remove the tors along the way.
  10. Hello,im new to this forum, and would like to thank everyone for making such a good forum here.I recently got a 2001 banshee for next to nothing. It came with v force 3 reeds and a jet kit. not sure what make the jet kit is,no papers. I tore it down had it bored .40 over. I removed the t.o.r.s and put the eliminator kit in. however it didnt come with the idle screws. Now to the problems. It will start right up no problem, but it wont rev up at all and wont idle. It just boggs. I have been told you have to do some wiring modification when you delete the t.o.r.s.?? I thought maybe it was way to rich because it had 280 main jets in when i got it,and still has stock exhaust for the next week. Just not sure what to try next i tried wiring the 2 throttle switch wires together, tried wiring the clutch wires together,. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks
