  1. Have you checked your compression ? Are the plugs ok ? If so where are your low speed needles at ?? Have you tried adjusting it ? If comp is good and the needles dont make a difference then it sounds like the carbs are probably still dirty what did you use to clean the carbs ?? and what pilot jets do you have in now as you had posted about the choke jet what ended up being the outcome of that issue ?

compression is 130/132, new plugs 2 different sets, needles are in the middle clip, a/r screws made little difference, solvent to soak in and carb choke cleaner sprayed thru the passages, 30 pilots....switched bowl on right carb to a right carb bowl :shootself: musta gotten it mixed up last time i cleaned them with another set of carbs i was robbing parts from :shootself:...heading out to clean the right carb better and spray through the passage agian and make sure the pilot is clean. just gotta go get another can of carb cleaner...i will post how everything turns out afterwards. i've been slowly bringing this shee back to life encountering every known problem along the way. much thanks to all the ppl here at banshee HQ for helping figure out all the problems. Y'all are by far the best ppl in banshee land! thanks again.

  2. i've went thru all the wiring and ohm testing once again everything is checking out...no key switch anymore red/black from the cdi is grounded out to the frame....as well as i made a new ground wire for the coil and it is grounded out to the frame with the rest of the grounds. is there an ohm requirement for the orange to coil from cdi wire? i'm going out to pull the flywheel, i marked the shaft nut and flywheel as to see if it sheered the key and it's not moved but it acts like the inside magnet is broken or something. even though it's new i noticed the guy who changed it used an impact to put the nut on.

  3. i had that idea as well so i scotchbrited them not that they were rusty but just to clean um to see if it made a difference and no difference.bangheadbangheadbanghead i just wish i could figure it out, i really dont want her to sell it cause of something stupid. i've done so much my brain hurts. even had my son wiggle and bend the wires as i was checking, hoping it's just a bad wire and everything checks out good. anyone ever had the connectors inside the quick connector loosen up and not make correct contact with the cdi? they look good but maybe not?!?

  4. occasional spark....only one plug wire will spark then it switches to another then nothing the both then just one again...wtf...any ideas? new good testing stator, pickup coil, coil and plug caps, new cdi, new flywheel...every wire and connector checks good in the harness front to back...wth could the problem be? every once in awhile it'll try to start but hasn't yet. wet but not to wet plugs so it's getting fuel. any ideas would be a great help and releif as the wife wants to sell my shee!

  5. Weak spark could be from bad spark plug caps. Failing CDI could cause that...also are you sure the coil is good ?

Have you inspected the jets and all other carb parts ?

Carbs clean and jetted to 280 mains, coil is new from rm stator in canada with plug caps allready installed... i'll try a known good stock coil...hope the cdi isn't going out( i'll test with known good one) but if it is then i'll send it back it has a one yr warranty :headbang:

  6. once again here i am asking another question :shootself: lol... bike fires right up will not idle on it's own and takes a second to rev...yesterday lost spark to right cylinder then to both banghead now all i did was verify the circuit on the orange coil wire it was good so i pluged it back in and it ran but slow rev and kinda a bogging sound...weak spark i'm guessing cause the plugs are wet occasionaly it will run perfect and rap up at a touch of the throtle then back to slow rev??? banghead

  7. who makes the best replacement cylinders? I have the ability to reverse engineer , improve upon (Port wise) and cast said new product. with that being said, what are the improvements you would all like to see in the replacement cylinder area? nothing is to small or to large to change. i've heard on here that some of the companys have had problems in the past with anything from machining to poor casting quality so lets hear it!!!

  8. I personally run a DMC Alien Exhaust setup, it's brand new, shinny, throaty sounding (real deep tone with a nice ping to it sound) not sure on the performance as i have yet to find another banshee to run against in my area...still tuning but sounds awesome Not like a lil nitro RC car as some i've herd sound like.

  9. Please copy and paste this along with your answers in your reply, thanks.

    1) What type of aftermarket exhaust do you have? DMC Alien

    2) What type of airfilter do you have? K&N

    3) Are you a)running a stock airbox with lid B) stock airbox with NO lid c) Stock airbox with vents d) no airbox at all? Stock airbox

    4) What is your elevation? (If you don't know, go here: http://www.topozone.com ) 750' above sea level

    5) What size pilot jets are you using? 28

    6) What size main jets are you using?280

    7) What temperature is your Banshee jetted for? 70deg F

    8) Do you have a port job? no

    9) What kind of carbs? VM26 w/TORS eleminator caps

    10) What size carbs? 26mm

    Thanks!

  10. Are you at a high elevation? Like 2,000 ft plus? If so, the motor will need LESS fuel, meaning smaller jets.

Your plugs are wet, which means rich, put in some 270 jets and see if that helps. Keep the screw at 2.5 turns out. Then do a plug chop.

elevation is 738ft above sea level here UNCORRECTED....as to the rest will try in the am and thanks.

  11. If your plug is "wet and washed" after WOT, your main jet is too rich. Running rich will cause that hesitation you are talking about. You can try a 270 main jet and see if that leans it out the right amount.

Are you running the stock air box? Do you have pipes? What elevation are you at?

yes stock airbox, yes they are dmc alien, i'm in ohio....also it dosen't want to idle but if you just touch the throttle it idles(less then 1/8 maybe a 1/16 if that)
