  1. Looks great....mine is also all black but not as nice as yours....great build.
  2. I think that you can find a better deal....I need new top end also.....check out ebay...wiseco pistons and vitos are about 199.00 dollars.
  3. It is pretty much stock....I was looking at those WSM on ebay, seems like a good price...comes with all the gaskets, wrist pins for a good deal....just wondering...like you said...forged or cast?
  4. I know that I am taking the bike apart this weekend and need to the cylinders measured to see which pistons I need. Question...I was wondering if milling the head with stock carbs and rejetting and news pistons will give me any horse power gains. Also thinking about the Vitos kit that adds more hp....any suggestions would be great.
  5. Ok.... little update. I did another compression test with a different gauge. Here are the results. Driver side was at 110 psi and other side was about 61psi....the next step now is to start tearing it apart and figure out what size pistons I need. I just wonder why the one side is so much lower than the other...I guess I will find out when I take it apart.
  6. Thanks for the response. I just want to get the most out of the bike I can, power wise without putting a lot of money into it. I am hopefully going to start tearing it down soon once I check again. I would like to get it done soon so I can hit the dunes this summer for some full moon night runs.....we are spoiled for sure living only 2 hours away from Gordons and Glamis.
  7. I think that Im going to go vitos kit...seems like it is close in price to the Wiseco's. Before I go and buy anything I am definately going to do another test just to make sure with a different gauge. Its pretty much a stock bike other than FMF Fattys and K & N filter...do you guys think that the Vito kit will be the best.....I'm sure rejetting also with that kit is standard?
  8. Im sure that I did it correctly....the compression test kit is from harbor freight...I know...its brand new....took both spark plugs out screwed in the portion of the gauge to spark plug hole...wide open throttle and kicked it over about 5 times or more. The bike definately still runs....or should it not run with that low of compression. And I will for sure buy the Wiseco since they really arent too much more than the Namura ones. I will also try another gauge to just double check my results. Thanks for the replies.
  9. So....I did a compression test this weekend after our season is over. I decided to do this because it just didnt seem like it was pulling the hills that good. What I found was the that the passenger side of piston was at 75psi and the driver side as at 50psi. I know I definately need to freshen up the top end. MY next question is, has anyone used the namura piston kit off ebay. I used the piston kit for my sons Blaster and Im happy with it. Just checking if anyone has done one on a Banshee.....any input would be great....Thanks.
  10. Ok...I will try that....yest I have stock caps. Thanks for your help.
  11. Yes it does have stock carbs. Im talking about the little screws that hold the cable in the slide with the little L bracket. It seems like one on each side came out easy and the other one is being a bitch.
  12. I have a question. I am replacing my throttle cable....I wanted to do a twist throttle for my bike but they were out and Im heading to the dunes this weekend. So I bought the replacement cable and removing the old one. I got to the carbs where you need to pull out cable that is held in by two little screws, I got one out on each side....is there a trick to getting these out....any help would be great. Thanks.
  13. Question....can you use two 35 watt hid and do a direct replacement on the stock lights that are also 35 watt....just wondering.
  14. I plan on taking carbs off and cleaning them and finding out what I have....This is my first two stroke, still getting the feel....definately the power band of the bike and looking forward to many more runs in the sand for sure this season. Just want to get it dialed in and make sure its running right.
  15. First season with Banshee....traded buggy for bikes....long time rider. My question is, Was at Gordons Well over new years and going up test hill a few times power just fell off and had to downshift to 2nd to make it to the top. Im a big guy...6'3 250. One of my buddies had a banshee and said it should pull hard in 4th all the way. I got the bike used so dont know really what I have. It has fmf fattys and dual carbs and k n filter is about what I know. Any help would be great.
