  1. There is a nub on the clutch cover that keeps the shift shaft from sliding to the right. Without the cover on, the shift shaft can slide out so that it does not catch the pegs on the shift star. Push it in and see if that solves your problem.

Hell ya! That was in Star! It was out like 1/2 inch. I pushed it back in and pop, right into neutral. I have it ready to go minus pipes. Tomorrow for the first start and break-in. Good shit!

  2. Need some help here. I just spent the last 3 days mounting the new motor by the book. I just hooked up the clutch cable and put the carbs on. Now I am atempting to put the chain on and I cannot get it to shift into neutral or any gear for that matter. It feels as if something is disconnected inside. It has resistance like the spring is in place but it does not engage inside to anything. I rocked the clutch basket to try and engage, but no help. I could remove the case saver, wrap the front sprocket manually with the chain and try to rock it with rear axle hooked up.

Any ideas?? I do not even want to think something is wrong with my $1200 purchase. banghead

  3. Are you kidding. You would do an insurance claim over a chain slappin the cases and crackin it. Lol. Just fix it. Thats your baby isnt it.

Alright you hater-aide drinking, sand eating forum hyenas. I files a claim because:

    1. Chain broke case slow drip

    2. Ran Case out of oil (didnt see drip) fried crank bearings

    3. warped crank cracked my fucking piston

    see post: http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=152267

So your damn right I filed a claim. I fight fires. I don't rebuild engines.

I already bought a set of cases from Josh Z so now it's time to send it off to Wildcard (your sponsor)

Think I want to fork over $1700 for the rebuild when I put INSURANCE on the fucking thing to begin with? Suck dirt

  4. MORE DETAIL:

It's an 89 the frame is cracking where the motor mounts in front. (could be welded)

Original motor stock as far as I can tell. Stock shocks other than a Rappy 01 rear. I put new swinger and J arm all balls kits in. Also a Proflo plate and K&N filter on it.

I took the ALUM radiator off it already.

    HERE IS THE KICKER!

If I take the $2165 (leave the bike) I get to go remove ALL MY AFTERMARKET BLING and accessories.

This is why I might like to start Fresh

    Feedback?

  5. Alright guys here's the deal, I bought an 89 J-Frame in December 2011. Put about $2000 into it including: SST silencers and pipes, carrier, rear axle, paddles, handle bars, tons of bling, upper J-Arms, chain, both sprockets, clutch cover, ect. Insurance totalled it when the chain came off and cracked the case. They are offering me $2600-$500 deductible for a total of $2100 or I get $1500 cash and my Banshee back. What to do?

If I buy it back for $600 I have Wildcard lined up for the rebuild.

  6. shay and brandon wont screw you. theyre site sponsors and theyre good people. you wont be disappointed.

I have been in contact via phone and PM's with both parties.. Sounds like a winning deal to me. Now to figure out how much the lady ill let me get away with. (all parts attached)

I'm going trail port for sure as well as pistons and hone.
