  1. Actually it's 686 cc . A whopping 80 ish hp on pump gas and under 3k in performance parts. Stripped down with 15 lbs of boost, it would have been a different story. Like I said, it's built to run the hills and ride trails, not a dragger. I've done the 150 hp light weight drag bike, not my thing anymore.
  2. Heavy weight stock motor trail/duner with low boost....you're right, that's a boat load. Shame one me for losing to a drag banshee.
  3. That's a 100% stock motor in a full weight raptor with 40 lbs of turbo stuff bolted on (probably 450 lbs) with a 250 lb "jockey", running 8 pounds of boost. And with a +6 arm with too much tire, and a very soft suspension...it's far from a drag quad. But still faster than every banshee there that weekend other than cashman
  4. The guy on the black turbo bike can't hear for shit...so he may have came across as snobby, but probably didnt hear ya...lmao. Seriously though, super nice guy...just gotta speak loud. I was the fat guy on the white frame turbo raptor with green tank theme fenders, there was some good racing between some of us, not sure who was who though. When did you get into it with somebody whitey? I didn't see any of that... I had 3 close calls on he strip...almost lost it on the south side when a jeep pulled in front of me, locked up the brakes and the ass end tried to pass the front. Caught a big rut on the north side just off the launch and ripped the bars out of my hands and slammed my chest into my boost gauge, knocked the wind out of myself and looked like a retard. Later, hit a big whoop on the north side pinned in 3rd and tossed me sideways...did a few 70+ mph fish tails and decided to park it. Oh yeah, I didnt see white13 beat anybody besides a stock 400ex and a blaster or two ...lol.
  5. Did you try getting a voucher Saturday morning or Friday night?
  6. The big strip is still a lake, and the small one by the beach isn't much better. Last weekend, you could run about 5 bikes wide on either side of the strip, but it was rutted up and wet at the start and whooped out in the middle...didnt make for very good racing.
  7. Yep, that was me you were smokin on the turbo Raptor. Basically a full weight trail/dune bike, but I like playing on the strip with it. It's a stock motor with a bolt-on d7 kit...I was only hitting 8-10 psi all day, found one loose clamp early on, and found the head pipe clamp missing the pinch bolt as I was loading up to leave. *edit* The other white/black bike was a stock bore, stock stroke Cuervo 700.
  8. No doubt, the "starting line" was sketchy as hell and the sand was soaked...launching was damn near impossible. Hopefully the big strip dries up this summer, I'm much more comfortable racing there...don't have to worry about idiots cutting across the strip in front of you, and it's a much bigger area...so you can move the starting line around as the sand starts getting rutted up. So what's the specs on your build? It ran very well. I was the fat kid on the white frame, green fender Raptor.
  9. There were a handful of banshees running the strip, not sure if they were guys from here though. 1 was pretty quick, a red frame drag build with black plastics...don't know any details on it, but it looked and ran good.
  10. All these new posts, I expected to read about this guys 4 mil finally breaking into the 3's using his dynolicious app on his iPhone while running down his gravel driveway...not all this leg humping.
  11. Looks like a few of you guys made the cut...
  12. It was one thing after another...I dropped the engine off in the fall of 2011. The first problem was the guy who powdercoated my engine, he was a liar, thief, and took a few months to get it done. After he finally finished his shit and got it back to Barker, I decided to go with a different and stronger connecting rod that was still in the design process (2-3 weeks away from being done), well....they took around 3 months in reality. So right as that new rod design was getting finished up, he told me about a new design that was supposed to be a game changer....a bearingless rod design. Not new in the racing world, but new for Raptor motors. So F it right? I have already been waiting damn near a year at this point, whats a few more weeks? Well, those few more weeks turned into around 4 months. After all the BS, he finally got the motor buttoned up and it was ready to be picked up. When I got it home, I notice that the epoxy on the lockout cover was hard as a rock from being powdercoated, so another month waiting while it went back to Direct Drive to get redone. So about 3 months back, I get everything back, find some fuel and fire this bitch up to get heat cycled before I hit the dyno. It runs for about a total of 3 minutes, and locks up solid. Blasting media (sand) from the powdercoater was left in the engine cases somewhere, and ran through the motor and made a mess. I needed a new connecting rod (went with a carrillo because I was tired of the "new design shit"), and needed a new piston (custom turbo piston's aren't sitting on shelves across the country), so I had a 6-week wait from CP. And that's where I'm at now...all the new parts came in, and it's at Barkers shop getting rebuilt, just waiting on the new gasket and o-ring for the head/cylinder. I hoped it would be ready by this weekend, but it's not looking good. Now I'm hoping to have it done for the mayhem in the mitten race, but who knows. /my life story.
  13. I hoped it would, but barker is still dragging his feet on it... I planned on having it running for Memorial Day last year, then the goal was Memorial Day this year....now Im shooting for Memorial Day next year . There should be a few drag raptors there this weekend, that is if they get finished in time...nothing like last minute thrashing in the garage.
  14. There will be a few 4-poke guys out on the strip this weekend, bring that BEAST back out and show us what a 4.0 pass on the dunes looks like.
  15. There will be a few of us Raptor guys hitting Bundy Hill this weekend instead of messing with the flooded dunes, none of us will be on drag quads...but I'm sure we will be spending some time on the drag strip there.
