  1. Thanks, Ill have to order one up. I also have the stock air box. Will this work with that. Also on a stock banshee what is a good vacuum reading on the gauge. Thanks for help guys.
  2. Well I just rebuilt the top end of my banshee. First time since I owned it since 2006 and first time ever. I also rebuilt the carbs with new jets and stuff. It still has a hard start to it and the idle is too low and will cut out. I also get smoke coming out the driver side pipe which was there before the rebuild. I need help syncing the carbs. Who sells a good tool for that. Also how do I adjust the idle on it? This is a box stock banshee with the Torrs box still on it. I dont plan on removing those as well. Any help will greatly appriciated.
  3. I have an 03 Banshee that has extremely low hours on it. I myself probably put 150hours on it. I never rebuilt the top end and to my knowlegde it has never been. It had 100psi of compression. I took the top end off and the cylinder walls look good. Still has a good crosshatch. Pistons look good. No scratches. I measures the bore and it is still a 64mm so I know its never been bored. I want to just slap rings on it and go. Who makes good rings to go onto stock pistons other then OEM? Also I found Cometic gaskets that say its for 66mm bore. Will these work on a stock 64mm? I know the correct thing to do is have it bored and honed, and new pistons. But I'm on a little bit of a budget. I just want to be riding again. Thanks in advance.
  4. well, I got the jugs removed. The pistons and jugs look good. No scuffing, still has a really nice crosshatch. Looks like I'll be buying a set of rings and slapping it back together. I'll also be buying a carb rebuild kit. Any suggestions on rings and gaskets, and carb rebuild kit? My banshee sat since 2007. I rode it like 3 times since then and started a handful of times. I took the carbs apart and cleaned them all out. What it was doing is it wont start unless you use eather. But then runs decent after that. Every once in a while youll hear like a gush of air out the exhaust. Once I turned it off it wouldnt start again. I did a compression check and thats when I found out i had low compression. I looked at the reeds and they seem fine. No cracks or splits. I just want to be riding this thing again.
  5. Thanks for the advice. I was just going to pop a hose off. Now Ill just take the screws out before taking the hose off. How much coolant will spill out onto the floor after I drain and remove the jugs. Just dont want any suprises.
  6. Hi, I posted a week ago or so about a problem I was having with my banshee. It is box stock never been touched. I did a compression check on it and it has 100psi in both cylinders. The top end has never been done before on it. I got the exhaust, carburetors, reeds, etc. already off. I was going to take the jugs out but I was wondering if you guys could give me some tips on this. Whats an easy way to drain the antifreeze? Should I remove the gas tank to help make some more room? When re assembling what are the torque specs for the jugs to the case, and the head to the jugs? And anything else you might think I should know. Thanks in advance
  7. Thanks for the welcome. I kind of figured it was the top end. Since I never rebuilt it and to my knowlegde it has never been. Now do you think I can get away with just putting a set of rings in it or do I need new pistons and a bore. I would like to just get it running and driving again. If the cylinder wall still looks good and the pistons look good can I just slap rings on it. I havent really riden the banshee since 2009 and that was for just a week or 2. Before that the last time I rode it was the summer of 2006. Carbs have been rebuilt and they played very little in the running of it. It does run somewhat better but definetally wont start without eather. Thanks for the advice.
  8. I have a 2003 Banshee. I bought it in 2006 with low hours, never rebuilt. To put it in perspective i have all original tires, original grips(hardly worn), and little wear on frame from from my legs. in the past couple year i hardly rode it. I went to start it in the spring and no luck. I rebuilt the carbs, put fresh gas in it and still nothing. I can get it to start on eather(which I hate doing). Then when i gas it, it will make like a noise like a loud gush of air out the right side exhaust pipe. The left side smokes alot. It will bog alittle when hitting the gas then once it sees full throttle it runs like a raped date. Even driving at full throttle it feels good. But once I shut it off it wont start again without eather. So i cleaned out the carbs again and its still doing the same thing. Today i did a compression check and bother cylinders are at 100psi. Is this normal? Should i buy a carb rebuild kit? what should i check, what is your advice? thanks in advance.
