  1. So i used a dial indicator and the piston comes out of the jug on the edge .043". So if I aim for .05 head gasket thickness that should be a good start?
  2. Banshee is at friends shop. The piston edge comes out maby a 1/16 inch.
  3. I picked up a set of used jugs and head and need to figure out head clearance. I have read about the squish test. How do I get a good start on how to figure out the thickness needed. The jugs are 69mm bore and the stock head has less of a ridge then my other stock head. So I would guess that it has been milled. The guy that I got this setup from does not know anything about the head as he never run it. The piston does come out of the cylinders when at tdc and hits the head. I am a newb at all this please send me in the right direction on how to go about this. Thanks
  4. i am keep the old parts to get cleaned up and use as spares.
  5. I thought I was on the side of rich but something happend. It is also an old ass shee that was "done" up. So I don't have a clue what is in there. Replacing both cylinders and pistons. And go from there.

    j-arms

My shee is a 87 with the j-arm. The stearing is really twitchy. Someone on here said the ball joints. My riding is tight trails and pits. I think wider arms on the front would get to wide, mabey? But in the end would I benifit from arms moved forward and/or wider? Also places to get j-arms. Seen steller, who else?
  7. skis work good in deep snow. Friend of mine has tracks and skis on his raptor. You buy the mount and bolt them on to the skis. I don't think it was lean. I was playing in a farm field with the snow ranging from 1 to2 ft deep so I was working it hard. Riding it like I stole it hard.
  8. I was running in the same cold ass temps outside -5 to-25 C and it was not running cold as far as I could tell. I had to let it sit and rest I was working it to hard and it was boiling over on me. I was also going in 1 to 1.5ft of snow.
  9. I ended up getting a 87 banshee this fall. Found this site and been lurking since. Thing is a blast. Why is the steering so twitchy? I have snapped 2 tie rod ends and bent 2 rods. I still had the tires on the front. Then I did this.
