  1. I honestly can't say I know the difference between the ignition break up or fat like fuel. Educate me. They are the flatslide carbs with 300 mains. I can't remember the exact pilot, but I would assume they are not a problem since it idles fine and is good at low RPM. A local trusted friend gave the advice of needing like a 330-350 main in the 34's. He claims several people are running 300's in the stock carbs. He also states my application would be better with stock carbs and cutting loose the 34's. IDK. He says the 34's are for the big boys going to cheetah cylinders. Thanks for the response.
  2. I just refreshed a top end on a shee I rescued from a poor owner. 1. cool head with 19cc domes. 2. 64.75 bore with wiseco prolites. 3.CPI in frames 4. 104 octane with castor 927 mixed at 32:1. Heres the thing. I mounted up some mikuni 34mm carbs with 300 mains. Stock air box with a uni replacement filter without the lid. The quad idles great and takes the throttle good, but at high rpms in neutral it misses. I am still waiting for my shipment to get here to replace the bent axle I baught it with, so I cant do a plug chop yet. Does anyone know if this is normal when the bike is just sitting there. One would thinkl it would rev until disaster happened if it were correct. Hitting the kill switch at high RPM gave a plug result that looked fine. (elevation 500ft.)
  3. Well ...It's funny you would ask those questions. No porting Elevation = North Texas (not sure). Will be riden local and occasionally at lil' sahara in oklahoma. I would like to keep the stock air box for trail riding and water crossings. I will consider whatever is reccommended by knowledgable people though. I just won the carbs on ebay and do not have them in hand yet. 1-2 more days until they arrive, so I do not know needle and jet sizes yet.
  4. Will someone with a little more knowledge than me help. I am building a quad a little different from the ones i have had in the past. This quad will have .020 forged pistons with 19cc domes in the cool head. It has CPI in frames, but this is the fiirst time I have upped my carbs. I got my hands on some 34mm mikunis. I am wondering what jetting should be used, or at least an accurate starting point. I know the propper way to check the jetting, but surely I am not the first to run this or a simular configuration. Start up jet sizes would be appriciated.
