  1. You were absolutely right. I ended up pulling it apart again to check my work and noticed 2nd gear on the countershaft was pre loaded against the thrust washer and clip. I held the shaft upside down and gave it a whack with a deep socket and a brass hammer and its a free wheelin gear again. Thanks very much sir.
  2. Yes I did put collar and sprocket on because I know it pulls that shaft tight. Also put the basket and hub on wth no plates and torqued it up.
  3. just finished putting the bottom end together and when spinning the input shaft and holding the countershaft in neutral there is quite a bit of drag. Double checked washers and clips were in correct position. Shifts through all gears nicely. Seems to go from tight to not so tight but can be spun by hand. It def seems like I have a thrust washer in wrong. Thanks for any help.
  4. Ok, excellent. Wish i would have asked before i ran them all the way in with loctite, but oh well. Curious why they used the longer studs in those locations only. Seems they all need to be a bit longer. Thanks very much guys.
  5. First post, hello everyone. I have been reading alot of threads and have finally decided to ask for help. Got the whole set up from FAST and am just finishing the assembly. Why are there two longer studs for the head?? Also the eight(i think) shorter studs don't really seem long enough when you put a washer on. Wondering if iv'e done something wrong. Tried to call Jeff at FAST as he has been very helpful but think he may be on vacation. I'm sure you guys have answered this question a million times but i searched for a little while and could not find my answer. Thanks for replies
