ok, finally got into it, the passenger side cylinder has some decent gouges in it, the tranny fluid is milky and the headgasket looks junk. pistons look fine, drivers side cylinder looks fine, i think im going to need a new headgasket and new cylinders...anybody wanna buy some parts lol

i think it might have blown a headgasket, and thats why it overheated. im not positve, but will definately do a compression test. idk what size jets are in it, but i will check them out when i get time to work on it which should b thursday. i don't know what a leak down test is. and it still turns over, but it is definately more of a struggle to kick it. ill post more when i actually get into it, but i will do a compression test before i tear into it.

im going to be tearing into it thursday hopefully. i hope its something that isnt expensive lol. i dont have any money in this quad (through a series of trades) and im not a huge fan of spending money lol so hopefully its a cheap fix.

ok, so im coming from the darkside, as this is my first 2 stroke quad. i traded a nice polaris predator 500 for this banshee which is supposed to have a 421 kit in it. i believe the guy said it had 68mm pistons, and a +4 crank. either way, that doesnt matter. what matters is, i was riding today, sliding around turns in first and second gear, never really built up too much speed. long story short, it overheated. i didn't realize it was overheating until it was too late. the motor died, and wouldnt start back up. also through out a big bit of steam/smoke. it was windy and hard to tell the difference. so im pretty sure a piston or pistons seized into the cylinder. i have never tore down a motor on a quad before, so im wondering what i should be looking for. also, am i looking at a complete new top end or just rings or??? like i said, i have never blown anything up before so i have never had to know what to look for. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanx.
