  1. definately gonna check intake boots, running a toomey air filter setup. May have cracked an intake. what level should the floats be at?
  2. I just went riding and hit a whoop really hard. The bike then started to bog on the right cylinder everytime I hit some bumps after that. It will pull clean on flat ground, but when I hit some whoops, the right cylinder wants to cut out. I run stock carbs with a twist throttle. I have never had this problem before. I checked the plug wires, and they were snapped on. Any ideas?
  3. I found the problem, and thank bansheehq for the help. The problem was that the choke tube wasn't connected. It must have fallen off when I removed the carbs. I put the tube back on and the problem was solved.I wish I would have noticed it before taking the manifold off 4 times.
  4. Definately advance the timing. Use an adjustable plate or buy a +4 woodruf key from vitos. I am running Thunder products UFO's on the stock carbs and it reall helps the lowend and throttle response. Some may say it is a gimmick, but after trying them I can attest that they work
  5. I recently installed Chariot performance reed cages, and I can't get the engine to run right. It was running great before I installed the cages, no it runs like it has an air leak: high idle, rpm's hang when throttle is applied and sometimes takes off by itself and the kill switch won't shut it. I have tried the cages with gaskets, without the gasket on the rubber side, and with yamabond 4 on all the sealing surfaces. The stock rubber manifolds look new, no cracks tears, or jacked up surfaces. The manifolds don't appear to be leaking. I tried raising the needle, adjusting the air screw, checking the cables to see if they are binding. I can't find a solution. The slides are synchonized and move freely. My next thing is to try putting the oem cages back in. Does anyone have any suggestions? Any thing I may have overlooked?
