Hey guys, fellow Banshee guy here. Im trying to sell my 4 stroke 250. Last summer at the band lands I jumped the bike (the pic in my sig) and when I landed the chain came off. Engine was still running until I looked down and seen that the chain had busted through the left side case that has the stator and flywheel. Oil was spuing out everywhere so I then shut it down (all happened in a matter of 20 seconds). I just bought a new cover, stator, and they where both for a year newer but the dealer said they were interchangable. The bike is an 89 and the cover is for a 90 i believe. After installing the new cover it would not start. Got fuel, got spark, wont even hit on eather. We pulled it apart further and seen that the timing had skipped..... no idea why, and nothing seems broken further, so we reset the timing and still nothing. I'm at a complete loss!! I need to get this thing running so I can sell it and buy more shee parts from you guys!! so now you got a vested iterest, lol. Any help would be awesome cause Im at a loss!!! Thanks in advance!

I am looking for a stock flywheel with good threads and in good condition. I am also looking for used paddles on rims. Rims can be stock or aftermarket but I want them already mounted so i can just throw them on. PM me if you have any of these items. Also looking for a good condition seat cover. Preferably silver, red, or black. Thanks

We definetly need to set a date! I am going to check my calendar and will post up what weekends work best for me...... I definetly want to do the BHQ Silver Lake meet this year so Im waiting to see when that is as well. Let me know what weekends work for you guys.

Thanks AK, I didnt think about that one. I do have some pipe fitting that just might work if I cant carve the threads back. I may just try that.

Thanks for all the pointers guys! Im going to first attempt to clean up the threads with a pic and force the puller in. Then Ill go 3 jaw, and replace it with an OEM. Thanks again!

What to do??!! I removed the cover, removed the nut, cleaned out the threaded area where the puller goes, and found flat threads. I have no doubt I could get a tap-and-dye from a friend but with the crank end (threaded) where the FlyWheel mounts going right through where the Tap would go; Im not sure what to do! Any suggestions as to how I should proceed? I can buy a new Flywheel/ balancer, but need the old one off first! As usual, any suggestions would be much appriciated!

Not to be a dick, and correct me if im wrong...but if your judging your engine temp by whether or not you can touch the radiator, then mabey your bike is running fine?! Get a temp guage to be sure.

I have been posting around on here about needed a set of pipes. One fellow member has a set of Rockets im set on buying if he still has them after christmas. Im still going to put them on my list of things to buy incase he sells them. 1. Rockets with silencers 2. both stock headlights with lenses, bulbs and completely in tact grills on the bezels. 3. I am looking to buy the timing plate(what ever its called), one that is adjustable up to +4, and am ready to buy right away if the price is right. 4. full set of plastics. 5. Gear....riding boots size 13 6. red and black bike so lookin for a seat (or cover) that works with those colors. Hit me up here or email me at [email protected] . Again, I am lookin to have the money free'd up until Jan so let me know if you got any of these but I wont be buying until then. THANKS!!

I never took paddles before cause I never had the Shee out there. I would however answer that with a yes, bring both types of tires.

They got small to medium dunes, trail riding, hills, pretty much you name it. I figure that if we can keep this thread going until early spring we can try and coordinate a meet up around everyones schedules. Im puting together an album on my profile that has mostly pics from the Bad Lands. Unfortunetly I didnt get the Banshee out there yet so they are all of my 4 stroke and my kids blaster.

Hey everyone, I go to the Bad Lands with my kid and friends every chance we get. I never see too many Banshees out there. Lets get something together this spring and tear it up! Suggest weekends that may work or wont work for spring and we can try and coordinate for anyone who wants to go.

Awesome! Thanks agian for all the pointers! I ended up downloading a PDF file manual from here, so im good in that department now. As for my riding style, I would say that im an open rider?? I like to rip from one sand dune to the next, jump just about anything and everything, and I like trail riding if its open and fast! The riding I have done so far on the Shee I havnt needed 5th or 6th gear at all and barely got into 4th. Long and short is that im in 2nd and 3rd power bands mostly. So I need a pipe that works for that. (BTW, I dont creek ride, and avoid mud when I can, not my cup of tea)

Im south of Chicago, and head down there to Attica as often as I can. Im not gonna get another trip in this year but will definetly be down there alot in the spring! PM me here if you guys want to set up an actual date for a spring meet up there! Maybe the forum will send us a banner to hang or something. I have three bike I'll bring(including my Banshee), and I have many friends with Banshees, utilities, bikes etc, that love to go! Lets set something up!!

T-Shee, Im not sure where Franklin In is, but im across the border just south of Chicago. We do several Attica trips each year. We need to get one of those together as well!

Ok, so the head is a "COOL-HEAD", I also found atifreeze seemingly seeping up along the head bolts. I gave them a slight tightening but am not sure what this means now. The kid I bought it from says its bored 40 over and the head is ported, but doesnt know what CC . Pipes are definetly first but now sure what will perform best, and from there I need to learn how to tune it. AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!!! Just need a 100G to send it to one of you guys

BTW, I am just outside chicago and our elevation is roughly 580. I think I need to start by figuring out what I have for a cylinder head...CC, etc. I have a text to the kid I bought it from in hopes he can tell me in detail what the bike has. Hopefully Ill have specs to follow. THANKS AGAIN TO ALL!

One more quick question....could the difference of him running racing fuel and me running 93 make a big difference? would this have anything to do with the fall- off of power I have in the higher gears?

Sorry, 06special, I miss read that you said you wouldnt go with T6's. So on that note...what about T5's?
