I don't even have a skid plate for it yet. It's a +6 Metal Tech, can you even run a skid plate with an aftermarket chrome moly swinger? Thanks for the answers guys, that's the info I was looking for.

I picked up a local guys complete rear end and he gave me his chain with it. I'm new to ATVs but I noticed the rear sprocket he gave me is considerably bigger than the stock one that was on there. I count 40 teeth on the sprocket that was on the bike and 45 on this new one. Which front sprocket should I use with it? When you + the rear, what does that add? The chain fits perfect but I just don't want to end up with some combination that kills my power.

I had the same problem with my new-to-me banshee last week and an air hammer made short work of that bolt. I beat the isht out of it with a sledge and punch, then a 3/8 extension. The air hammer knocked it out in seconds.

Here's a few progress pics... it's getting there. Got rid of the ghetto fabolous rear end, got a radiator that doesn't have a hole kicked in it, a chain, new mid pipes (not pictured) and I'm starting to get it cleaned up. Still need rear tires, an air filter, and a good tune to get her on the road. Looks better than it did but it's got a ways to go before I'd be happy with it... I got the swing arm from a local guy. It's a Metal Tech and +2 Dura Blue Eliminator axle. He gave me the whole rear end of his bike so that helped get rid of that horrible contraption of a swing arm that was there -
Stock swing arm (x2) $25 each Steering stem $20 Left and right lower A arms $30 for both Brake lever $5 Front master cylinder $25 Rear brake caliper and rotor $30 Axle with hubs and everything all still together $70 Rear shock linkage, "wishbone" $15 I have these left and right mid pipes from a Toomey T5 kit that aren't bent up a little. I'm not really trying to get anything for them cause I'm going to throw them in the garbage but if you want them to try to fix them or use the flanges just throw me a few bucks for shipping and a gas to UPS Located near Phoenix, AZ

So I'm making some progress... $78 later and Toomey is sending me two new mid pipes, all new o rings, and new pipe springs. I picked up a nice lot of banshee parts off ebay that had some stuff that was missing or wrong on my bike. I got a swing arm, air box, linkage, radiator etc plus a bunch of stuff I don't need. After some reading on the boards, I was going to do the TORS removal kit but took a second look at the carbs already have the idle screws installed so that was a nice surprise. I'd like to rebuild the carbs or at least clean them though, who knows what condition they're in. I need the top plastics, some brake pads and fluid, and a chain and it should run and look pretty good vs when I got it! lol Question: The rear brake is missing a cable but has the hydo line. Is the cable normally linked to the front brakes or is it some sort of parking brake? And do I need to do anything special to run without it? -

Don't even worry about it lol After looking at members pictures on here of how the rear is supposed to look, I've decided I'm not even going to try to make it work the way it is with that ghetto fab swing arm. I'm going to put a stock arm and link back on pronto. KEVSWS6 thanks for the answer, I'll ignore that stuff. sandman81, yeah I live in AZ. I'm up in the Phoenix area by the White Tank mountains. -

Well I started digging into it today for fun. I decided to comp test it myself today for fun because my bro in law didn't write down the numbers and couldn't remember exactly what they were. He said he thought it was like 13xpsi and within a couple psi of each other. After doing it myself, holy high compression batman! 169psi right and 168psi left. Looks like a race gas only engine. If I use 110, what oil mix should I use? No wonder he thought he needed a foot longer swing arm, this thing might end up being a beast... But besides being dirty and spray painted, it's actually not too haggard. The wiring is a little weird. He cut out the key ignition module and put an on/off switch and it has 3 things I'm unsure about. The two plugs in the picture aren't plugged into anything and the box in the background that's attached to the frame has 3 cut wires coming out. Anyone know what they were? This stuff is directly under where the gas tank sits. And I took off the ghetto silencer set up. It looks like he heated up one of the pipes with a torch and bent it to fit like that I really don't want to bend it back and screw it up even more so hopefully a replacement isn't too expensive. Other than that, the chassis is straight, the suspension is intact and seems fine with the exception of the rear set up, but that'll change. The brakes are intact but don't have any fluid in them Hopefully nothing expensive pops up with those. The pads looks like crap so I'll probably replace those. How do you handle the rotors? Surfacable on quads or just replace them? Thanks for the input and welcomes and thank you to anyone who's willing to answer my newb questions -

Thanks for the input guys, I wouldn't have known about the mid pipes and shock angle discrepancies. I'll address those before I take it out. Yeah, it's missing the chain too but I don't like the crazy swing arm on it so I think I'm going to put a stock or at least shorter swing arm on, then get the chain. I found a good radiator for $15 and I'm sure I can find an air box for cheap. Hopefully it'll ran after that! -
Hi, new member and new Banshee owner. I acquired this thing today through trade. I don't think it's worth a fortune or anything but I got rid of something I had absolutely ZERO interest in and little value and ended up with someones project bike. I'm very mechanically inclined when it comes to modern 4 stroke cars, trucks, and motorcycles and I understand 2 strokes but have only had a couple. I had a '01 Blaster and a '98 Sea Doo XP but didn't tinker much with either. And now I have this thing... Dude claims the bottom end had a lot of work done but I can't verify it so I don't know what's down there. He says it's a 4mm, welded crank, and wiseco .020 over piston. It has a Cool Head on it, Toomey T5 pipes, twist throttle, 11"+ extended swing arm. He bought lots of billet stuff that looks great but some one also spray painted a lot of it, including the frame, and that looks like crap. It's dirty but kicks over and compression tests good at 130psi. The radiator doesn't leak but it looks like someone got mad and tried to kick it in LOL. It's missing random stuff like an air box of some sort and the plastics look like crap. I'm deciding what to do with it. Any suggestions?
