  1. Thanks so much for all the help guys, I have a good understanding of all my options now, i'll definitely give a call to brandon and see what he can do for me... and i guess ill open up the crank case to clean it out haha on another note, one of my carbs is pretty rough, any suggestions on better replacement carbs, like 32-34 mm?
  2. So I'd like to go that way, but i'd much rather not change the crank or even open up the whole bottom end. I'm not a 100% sure but from what i read I could get a 392 athena or 392 cub without changing the crank, reads and carbs. I'd probably change those soon after but at least i wouldnt have to get everything at once. as for boring to the next size over, i know for a fact that my local machine shop is going to charge me a ridiculous amount to do it, so i'd have to send my jugs somewhere? can you even bore the sleeve or do i need new sleeves? And im new to the term porting, is that something that gets done by a machine shop as well? and can i order a top end kit thats already ported that wouldnt require changing the crank?
  3. i've blown the jugs and pistons on my 99 shee and im wondering what my best option is. It seems like a stock rebuild will be the priciest option. Is getting new sleeves and getting them installed cheaper than buying a whole new aftermarket kit? I was looking on Ebay and you can get a 392 cc big bore kit for around 700$... is it worth it? which is better athena or cheeta cub? will I need bigger carbs or different reeds as well? i wouldnt mind getting more power than before and am wondering what my best option is under 1000$ Thanks for the help
  4. I actually already have Pro-circuit pipes, it's about the only aftermarket part on it. so what those the timing plate actually do?
  5. most of the parts on my banshee are in rough shape, but the motor and carbs are still in good condition. I stripped absolutely every part off and decided to put it back together properly and take the time to make the necessary mods. I don't want to just put it back together with stock parts this time, so I was wondering, what kind of mods could I achieve with about 400-500$ that would increase it's power without compromising the life of the engine? -My equalizer tube is punctured, is it worth it to put a booster bottle instead? -are v-force reeds worth it? if yes, do i need to re-jet the carbs if i put them in? - is it fairly simple or even possible to put a tachometer on a banshee? - Is there any other after market parts that i should consider? thanks
  6. thanks for the input guys, It was the parking brake wire all along.. I ran it all weekend and it's just screaming so now everything is perfect
  7. ok well there was a little black box under the gas tank on the left side with wiring which i disconnected, i also disconnected the wires connected to the top of each carburator and there is absolutely no difference. It starts fine and idles fine but when you hit the trottle it just slightly change sounds but doesnt rev up
  8. well I thought it could be the parking brake because one of the wires on the left handle was all screwed up, so i bypassed it completely. So my guess is it isn't the parking brake. The tors would make a lot of sense though. so they're just rev limiters? why are they suddenly acting up? and just to make sure i did the right thing with the parking brake: its part 31 in the the handle switch and lever section of the parts catalogue and its just called "switch". Since it was falling appart i cut the wires short and connected them together, does that make sense?
  9. i'm not sure what the tors are, but i did replace the black tube (which i didn't in the 1st place) but it didn't do anything more with it on, i'll check the fuel line though. and we never touched the slides when we pulled it apart edit: I checked the fuel lines are fine
  10. I have a 1999 Banshee 350, and I just pulled everything apart to check the jugs etc. All i did was change a little part that broke inside the shifting mechanism but it wouldnt start after we put it all back together. Finally got it started by jump starting it but it just idles and refuses to rev up at all. The only difference in the gas/air/ignition combo is the packing on the pipes that i changed, but i thought that wouldnt make much of a difference. Is it possible that we changed something in the jetting by just moving those carbs around? or is it a totally different problem. thanks for your imput
