  1. Hi, I need to replace my filters. K&N are in there now and they are mangled from the previous owner. I searched for the model and can not find it. B035B4. I measured it and its 3.5 Wide, 6 long and the flange part is 2.25 wide. Does the length matter ? There are some that looks like it will fit, but its 5 in long vs 6 in. i have now. I think the carbs are 39 or 40 mm. Its a 4mil motor. The replacement Im thinking about is. RU-0610 which is 2.25 w 5"l 3.5 out side diam. Thanks all.
  2. Excellent! Thanks all
  3. Can you travel with the banshee vertical? Does it cause any damage leaving up for over 6 hours?
  4. Hi all, what would you recommend the mix ratio for a 99 banshee. It has a 4 mil motor that was just dyno'd at 71 hp. Its jetted and has T5 pipes, coolhead and I think 34mm carbs. Im not sure about the porting. I used to run a TRX250R at 40:1, should I do the same with the banshee or 32:1 or somewhere in between? I'll be using 50/50 vp race 110 and 91 Pump with Redline racing oil.
  5. Hi, does anyone have a extra left upper a-arm for sale? How much shipped to 95843? Thanks
  6. Thanks for all the replys. I got some ATF type F and changed today. Taking to the shop tomorrow to have it dyno'd and jetted. Can wait to run her
  7. I do't know what kind is in there now. Once I drain out the old, is there anything else I need to do? Or should I go ahead and just add the new oil? I heard you don't want to stick with one brand and not to change oils. Is this true?
  8. Its a 99 Banshee 4 mil motor, t5 pipes, VForce 3 reeds, Kn filters. The Dyno sheet read 86 HP. Taking in tomorrow to have it Jetted and ran on the Dyno. Here are some pictures. Came with full sand tires Haullers / Mo Hawks and full dirt tires. Its a little dirty because its been sitting awhile. I'll post some more when I get it cleaned up
  9. I think so too! I just don't know anything really about oils and which brands to stick with and ones to stay away from.
  10. What gearcase/ transmission oil would you use. Is there one better than another? I heard you can use ATF. I have no clue what to use. When I had my TRX250R i just used Pro Honda HP Transmission Oil 80w/85w. What do you recommend? its a 4 mil motor.
  11. He had the dyno sheet of it. But I'll have it done myself and know for sure.
  12. All i have seen here in CA is 91 Octane. I'm close to sea level and will be running mainly at sea level. When I took the compression test, I had both plugs out, put in the tester on one side first then again on the other side. When I kicked it over I had the throttle wide open. I kicked it over about 10 times on each side. Is that enough? I know when I took other bikes to the shop, they used a dyno to do the compression test by spinning the back wheels. It read more that what mine tester told me, by alot. This was on a 250r. It showed on mine 210 psi and at the shop when they did it showed 340 psi.
  13. Hi All, Just bought a 99 Banshee with a 4mm motor, t5 pipes, air box eleminator and was Dynoed at 86 hp. I checked the compression and it is 137 psi in one and 140psi in the other. What fuel should I use? He used racing fuel with redline racing oil. Can I run 91 octane pump gas? Also I wanted to change out the fluids, what gearcase oil and coolant should I use. Is one brand better than another? Thanks all in advance. I'm sure I'll have more questions as I go farward
  14. I took the plunge and picked up a 99 Banshee. It was rebuilt about 20 hrs ago. Has 86 HP from the dyno sheet. I don't think I have ridden anything with this much power . There is 140 psi in one and about 137 psi in the other. It has been sitting for a bit since he has not used it much, so I will drain all the fluids and refill. With this compression, what gas should I run? He used Redline racing 2 stroke oil. 4 mm stroker, cool head, v-force reeds, toomy T-5 exhaust, Kiehin twin carbs., and swing arm extension. 86 hp on the dyno, Dirt and Sand tires for all four wheels. California Green Sticker. i got it for $2400.00 . I'll take some pics tomorrow. I'll also ask in the maintenance forum about the gas which to use.
  15. I think I'll be getting the Banshee, Its 4mil motor, short rod. new rod 10 hours ago, Is this worth 2000?
  16. Hi all, I'm not sure which one to get. Both are around the same price, 2000. I love dunes, but will probably ride trails sometimes. I don't drag race, but may just against my brothers for fun. I love the power of the banshee but have not ridden them much. I've mainly had TRX250rs and ATC250rs. I have never ridden a YFZ but have heard lots of good things about them. I know with 2 strokes you have to replace piston and rings, do you have to do that to 4 strokes often? I like the idea of just gas and go, with out premixing, but i dont want to base my decision on that. Im looking at 92 - 05 banhsees and 04 and 05 YFZ's. Tell me what you all think. Thanks all
  17. Good morning all, I just sold my TRX250R and want to get a Banshee. I'm not a mech and really don't know much about these things. What should I look for in the banshee? There are alot out there for the 2k - 2500 range. I found one that is a 05 bone stock. original owner, I can probably get for 1800. I have not seen it yet. Then there is one here is the details http://sacramento.craigslist.org/mcy/1976127565.html "this is a 1995 banshee with a 2006 banshee motor in it... i have the title in hand , and it is green stickered until 2011. it has a 4mil 110mm short rod in it. +2 lonestar chrome a arms.. advanced timing. t5 pipes. billet reed spacers, 30mm carbs, tag bars,, boysen reeds, billet lights. new electrical wiring.. plastics have no tears in them at all. jetted perfectly... 130 psi on both sides. price is 2,000 firm and this is a steal.. " I've read to check tie rods, frame for cracks. What else should I look for. I want something that will be fast and more powerfull then the trx. I want it to be reliable since I won't have money to keep dumping into it. I can do basic things for the maintiance like plugs, oil changes and that type of stuff. Which would you recommend leaning towards? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
  18. Hi, To bad you are not in Sacramento area... Bummer. Looks like a nice bike
  19. Good morning ALL, I'm starting to look for a banshee and was wondering what I should be looking for. I'm not a mechanic and its hard to get a bike into a shop here. Im located in Northern CA. What are the most important things I should look for? I plan on looking at several this weekend and plan on buying one in the next couple weeks. I have had a banshee before, but never really had a chance to ride it. I have had several 250r's. I'm looking for more of Dune and trail riding. Mainly Dunes. Are there problems with any certian year of banshee or are they all about the same? What years should I be considering? Please, any advise you can give me is much appreciated. Also, are banshees a better bike than trx 250r's? Probably a loaded questions Thanks all
