  1. I bought a 1998 shee a year ago and finally am getting to rebuild the whole thing. I have looked alot of posts on various engine mods, but there are some I am having trouble finding any info on. I want a reliable engine build and don't want a drag racer. I can beat any other atv where I ride on my 400ex right now, just want a shee for the power band. Anyway I have seen alfew guys talk about a shift drum mod and pancake bearing install, and timing plate +4 but can not find out what it is for sure. I am about to start rebuilding my shee engine and want to do any internal mod I can to make it reliable as posible. I do alot of trail riding and some dirt road trashing but a relitively stock rebuild is all I need. Any help will be greatly apperated. God bless and have a great day.
  2. I am having a problem trying to get my engine parts back from ( Short Blocks R US ). I sent my crankshaft, and both of my jugs to them in May 2010 with a money order to get them to bore out my jugs,rebuild my crankshaft, and a new engine gasket set. They have stopped answering my calls and won't send me any E-mails. I did not reliese it would be shouch a hassel just to get my engine parts back and a refund if there not going to do the work on my stuff. Next time I will find someone local to do my work. I just hope no one else will be planning on using them. If anyone has a suggestion it will be apperated. I live in Alabama and its had to find someone that will rebuild just a banshee crankshaft here.
  3. I though that I would warn anyone that is even thinking of sending there engine to ShortBlocks R Us. Please don't waste your time or lose your money. I have been waiting for my crankshaft, clinder boring and engine gasket kit since June. If you ever get someone on the phone he will LIE to you and say that he is just finishing up your parts and he will be shipping them out to you soon. Guess what u will be waiting like I am still waiting, and don't think that he will send ur parts and money back after such a long time either. I have emailed about 12 times my address and called about a dozen times also. I just hope this will help someone before they are ready to pull there hair out . I am trying to get in contact with the police deptment and report my engine stuff as stolen and see if I have any Legal action that I can persue. P.s. The BBB in California sucks as bad as the 1 here in Alabama.
  4. I just decided to buy a whole 2 into 1 kit. Its a whole lot easier that way. It has a 35mm carb with the kit. Thanks for the help. Just can't wait to see how much faster is a banshee than my 400EX with a few mods?
  5. U are correct, but I found another company that makes a 2 into 1 intake and they have a boot for a 38mm.
  6. I just got a Trinity 2 into 1 intake for my Banshee,but no carb. What I am asking is will a spare 400EX carb work with a .030 over rebuilt Banshee engine. I don't want to flood out the rings with fuel trying to start it for the first time. I have wrote to trinity ,but have never gotten a response yet. The 400 EX carb is factory jetted and ran flowlessily.when it was on my 400ex. It is a 38mm carb and I think factory Banshee dual carbs are 25mm each one right? I really need someone that has done this swap to point me in the right direction. I have rebuilt numerous ATV's in the past but never a Banshee. I don't really care if it hurts my topend that much. I am betting it will still be faster than my 400EX. Thanks for any help........
