  1. might be a dumb question but..... how do u know when ur K&N filter is shot? I bought it with the k&n and im not sure how old it is or if its worn out!!!
  2. sounds like u either have the carb slides in the wrong carbs or the slides are not on correctly. do u have the carb bowl gaskets on right. go back over everything. im sure it is something very simple..
  3. i have mikuni carbs. today while riding the throttle stuck on. i pulled the left carb and noticed that the slide had turned. the little tab that sticks out had worked its way out. are these threaded or what. the slot in the slide is supposed to ride along that little tab sticking out right? has anyone had this problem and what do i do?
  4. south jersey pit riding

  5. also if u are going to 40:1 why are u trying to tune it in now. make the switch then tune it in.
  6. try going in further on your pilots. sounds like you are rich 1/4 to 3/4. try 1 turn out on air screw.
  7. 330 are running good. everyone has suggested in that range and for the mods i have i think im in the ball park. im gonna do a plug chop tomorrow and we will see, but it seems to be running awesome
  8. just 1 idle srew on the choke carb and the other carb has the hole with threads but it is not open inside the carb. Is this normal. if not what should i do?
  9. well i figured it all out thank god!!! i had the carb slides reversed....DUH!!! i opened the carbs up fixed the slides, moved my needle clip to half way, put 330 mains and 27.5 pilots in and it is running like a raped ape. amazing how a little bit of not paying attention can do. thanks everyone for their help.
  10. i only have 1 idle screw and its on the choke carb. ill have to look and see if there is a hole on the other carb.
  11. i have mikuni carbs with tors removed. 2 questions. how do i know which slide goes in which carb, these are the regular round slides. also, i only have 1 idle adjustment screw and its on the left carb with the choke. is this normal???
  12. what will the top end look like if it is blown??? anyone have any pics?
  13. no prob. ill tear it down and post some pics. probably get to it tomorrow...i hope! what a project these things are. they are a lot of fun though. what should my compression be for each cylinder??
  14. sounds like i screwed up after the rebuild. i put 220 mains and 25 pilots in. my buddy has a compression tester and i will do that. also, i had needle clip all the way at top causing even more lean . so ill pull the top end and check everything. do u think i can get away with just rings??? i am at sea level in new jersey. so after all i should be at 280 mains and 27.5 pilots right? thanks for all the input guys. it is very helpful because this is my first banshee!!!
