nah dude i didnt remove the box just unplugged the throttle switch and parking brake switch. ill remove the box tho. im gonna tear down the carbs again and clean them once more and pay extra attention to the slides. would it be okay to lube up the slides with some klotz or yamalube? would it help any?

yes i driled and tapped the idle screws when i put the TORS kit on. I set the carb sync by slowly pushing the throttle with the engine off and watching the slides and adjusting the cable adjustments so both slides move at the same time. there are no hang ups with the slides. i never touched the air screw, it ran perfectly before, but then on the last ride it stuck wide open and ppl said the TORS failed cause it wouldnt start again, so i bought the TORS removal kit and now im having a hard time tuning this thing.

will a stock axle from a yfz450 fit a banshee?

ok, so both the carbs are in sync with each other, the sleeves are in correctly and the marks line up in the windows. now my problem is that when i set the idle screws all the way in, it revs wide open, i set the screws half way out it idles fine then bogs out when i give it gas then shuts off when the rev comes back down. if the screws are al the way out it doesnt run at all. another problem im having is it will not start unless i cover the face of one of the carb where the air cleaner goes. does anyone know why it doesnt wanna idle and run correctly and why it doesnt start unless you block up on of the carbs??? i do not know very much about quads so every bit of info on here helps me tremendously and im tryin to learn every bit i can. by the way, thank you to all, who has helped me out on here. i really appreciate it and i couldnt have gotten this far without you guys so thanks again.

yes they are stock carbs, and i believe they only go in one way cause there is a lip that sticks out that keep the slide from spining right? ill try and switch the slides around and see if it helps. thanks.

1999 Banshee TORS Elininator Kit New Ignition Coil New Plugs I previously had problems starting my banshee, however, i finally got it started and it idles good but as soon as you give it gas, it revs up by itself and stays wide open. What could be causing this? I cleaned the carbs and the idle screws are installed correctly, you just can't touch the throttle or it revs wide open.

yes the idle screws are in. i got it started finally, but now it idles nice and sounds good but soon as you give it fuel it revs wide open and stays there. do you know what could be causing that?

okay so i covered the faces and cranked it fuel ran out of the right side carb and a little out of the left so i tore down the left carb( the one with the choke) and cleaned it and put it back together and still no start.

ill try covering the faces when i crank tomorrow. thanks ill keep ya posted

well i disassembled the carbs and cleaned all the components and stuff when i installed the TORS removal kit last week, cause in the beginning people told me the TORS are notorious to fail and cause no start so i eliminated them, then i tested the stator cdi and all the switches and everything was ok then i tested the coil and it was going bad so i replaced the ignition coil and plug wires and caps, and installed a brand new sets of plugs, im getting good spark it looks like lightning bolts if i hold it away from the head a few inches, like it just doesnt make any sense to me everything i test or angle i take its a dead end. it ran fine when i bought it, cause it was used, but then it stuck wide open on me and now it wont start at all. im at a wall here with this thing. lol

1999 Banshee FMF Powercore II exhaust TORS Removal Kit Taped up the old TORS connectors New Ignition coil New Spark Plugs Tested Stator, CDI, Kill Switch, Ignition Switch, and Compression, all tested GOOD. Appears to be getting fuel, and has good spark but will not start. also, the TORS throttle cable that came with the kit, pulls the carb sleeves up, but then they stay up and wont come back down. Does anyone know the answer to these issues? Im lost. all ideas come to dead ends. very irritated and fed up lol please help!

i put my finger over the hole and kicked it and it has compression, when i give the quad gas the sleeves stay up in the carbs since i put the TORS removal kit on. its giving me such a headache i just want it to run lol i dont kno anything about motorcycle engines so i went in blind on this one lol. the plugs appear wet but it just wont fire idkkk

ok took them apart and cleaned them one by one put everything back together and same issue. still doesnt start.

I have a 1999 Banshee, the throttle stuck wide open last time i rode it and i shut it down and it wouldnt start again, i noticed i wasnt getting spark so i did all the tests and stuff and found the TORS were bad and the ignition coil was bad. so i got the TORS elimination kit and a new coil and now i have good spark but it still wont fire. any suggestions? please help.

yes i checked all the wires and connectors and they all look good. this thing is just giving me the worst headache over this lol. i read something about the stator and coil? where are they located and how can i check them?

My dad took my 99 banshee for a ride this past weekend and the throttle stuck wide open on him, he managed to shut it down with the kill switch, but it wont start at all now. I thought maybe the carbs were dirty cause my air filter needed changed, so i tore down the carbs and cleaned them and checked the floats and jets and theyre all good and clean, but it still doesnt start. i noticed i have no spark now either, any suggestions? i cant figure out what is wrong. I have the TORS still on it, would it run if i got the kit and removed them? im runnin out of ideas, please help. Thanks!
